Wedding Band??

We picked up our bands last week..I have two one plain one and one with five diamonds set in prongs...my engagement ring is a round solitaire with six prongs....i really did not want a channel setting wedding band (and wanted to wear them on the same hand) and new they would not sit perfectly. The band was custom made and has a slight curve (like the letter u) on the ends so it would sit a little better but there is small gap. I am not sure what to do I am thinking maybe I should have the jeweler make more of like an insert or do you guys think a slight gap is OK...I have to wait now till after the wedding since it is Saturday..Maybe i am just not used to it..i know it does not help that the stones in the band are sort of big too...(never have enough diamonds.. )
