I've been to a few jewelry stores and tried on some bands over the course of my engagement but they never have a big selection and they tell me that they will make me the ring that I want. I am the kind of person that needs to see it on my finger and next to my e ring to know if I will like it. So my question is where can I go that has a nice selection of bands for me to try on? I live in suffolk so preferably out this way.

Re: Wedding band shopping
We got our wedding bands from Harels on Wicks Rd. in Brentwood. It doesn't have a huge selection, but what they do have is beautiful. What type of band are you looking for? I was just there last week, maybe I can tell you if they have something similar to what you want.

Re: Wedding band shopping
Check out Libutti's in Huntington Village. I worked with Maggie and she was a dream come true. I said 'I don't like the matte finish' and she took the ring in the back and put a high polish on it just so I could see how the ring would look without the matte finsh.
Of the four jewelers we saw in Huntington I can't say enough good things about Libutti's jewelry. Definitely worth a trip!!

Re: Wedding band shopping
I am looking for a simple band with diamonds that go at least 12 way around. What Im having difficulty with is the size of the diamonds and their setting b/c my e ring besides my center stone has two diamonds on each side of it and then smaller diamonds on the band which is a split shank. Of the ones I've tried on I haven't seen anything that i think goes well. Here is a pic of my e ring.
Go to Tri County and jumped from booth to booth to see if you see anything you like. That way, you can only go to one place but hit up a lot of jewelers!

This is a really good idea! Plus, if you see something you love but want to shop around for the best price you can.

Check out Gennaro Jewelers in Bellmore -- right by the LIRR -- huge selection, reasonably priced, and great customer service!

Re: Wedding band shopping
I have seen alot of girls mention tri county which I've never been to, but close to my house there is a place called Attias(which I am assuming may be similar to tri county? It was a sketchy place but again you can go booth to booth to see what they have. One place had a band that I liked but I really question about getting my band from there? Has anyone bought their e ring or band from Attias?

My cousin did; 3 yrs. later and shes missing a couple of stones but honestly I know people who have bought their rings from high end dealers that have lost stones so it's hard to say whether or not it has anything to do with it.

What a beautiful ring! I got my band at Diamond Roof in Tri-County, and my band is very similar to what you are looking for. It's got 9 diamonds - but looks like it's an eternity, when looking at it from top of your hand. If you go there, speak to Guistina or Sam, they are great!

If you are fearful of buying from a place like tri County or Attias, just go there to get ideas. Once you find soemthing you like, you can easily go to another jeweler to get it designed.
I don't think there's anything wrong with going to a jeweler in a place like those, but that's just my opinion.
My friend's DH got her e-ring from Tiffany's and a few months after giving it to her a prong completely broke off and she almost lost the main stone. Then, this past year, she banged her hand into the fence and the band of the e-ring cracked.

Re: Wedding band shopping
I went to a ton of different jewelry stores and couldn't find a band that I was 100% happy with...I finally found a band online from Wal-Mart believe it or not and when I received it and tried it on it was perfect. I also have seen a lot of beautiful rings on many stores website such as wal-mart, sears, macy's etc. Worst case scenario you order a ring & you don't like it, you can return it.

You could just go to get an idea and then ask someone else to make it?

Where did fh get your e-ring? Can you go there? Maybe they can match it? I went to Jareds but that is where fh got my e-ring there. I am very happy there. I have the rings insuranced so if anything happens they fix it free of charge. They also clean the rings. They have a big selection I felt.

Re: Wedding band shopping
Yeah I did go to Attias yesterday and only saw one band that I liked. I might check out Tri County as well to see if there are any other styles that I like and then go to a local jeweler to have them create it. I have also been checking online but I'd hate to buy something and have to return it if I didn't like it. My e ring actually is slightly curved in at the top bc of the split shank, so the band that mathces it is curved to fit against it and I don't like that. Thanks for all the info, my search continues!

Re: Wedding band shopping
I go to Italian Design jewelers at TriCounty. Got my band there and they have a lot of styles that have stones about 1/2 way around - - see my photo lib for pic of my band to get an idea of the style. I also had a band ring made up by them which came out really well so if you see something close they can make changes to your specs. I have my wedding band from them now for 4 1/2 years and no problems.

Re: Wedding band shopping
try Elegant Jewelers in the flea market near McGarther airport (not sure the name of the market) they are great and can make you anything you want. My fam has been going their for years. They did a great job with FH bands and have lots to choose from. you may find it a better option to not wear your e-ring and band together. i have a split shank on my ring and no bands sit nicely with it. i will wear my e-ring on my right hand and my band on my left
