About how long before your wedding are you supposed to look at/design/buy your wedding bands?

We are probably going to order ours at the end of Dec. for our May wedding... thats about 5 months. I don't know if thats the normal amount of time, but FSIL is a jewler and we will order from her next time we see her at christmas, after that we probably won't see her again until easter, and that would be too close!

We ordered ours at the end of June. We originally just went to look but found the bands we wanted.
