Are you looking for something in particular?

Kittythestay posted the vendor where she and her DH got their posey rings. Their rings are amazing.

If you're going for something traditional, I love Blue Nile. I like their customer service, and they usually have really good prices. (+ no sales tax b/c you're ordering online)

I've got a family member who owns a jewelry store in Staten Island.

FM me if you'd like more info.

DH's is really unique, he gets more compliments on his than I get on mine!! We got them from Sam at Diamond Roof in the Tri-County Flea Market.

I still like good ol' tiffany's. Can't go wrong, and there's definitely a wide selection...

What is the tri ocunty flea market? Where is it? Is it vintage and used rings? Is this an outdoor once a week market or an indoor type thing?

I love Tiffany's, too... However, you also have to be careful what you buy at Tiffany's... Most of their diamond jewelry will appraise for less than you pay for it.

if you google antique wedding bands, you'll get alot of sites for estate jewlery (really pretty and unique stuff)
which you can buy or take to a jewler and have him copy (which is what we are doing)

don't care (besides it's my band, not engagement ring). For me it's all about design. Not too many places you can get really stunning jewelry by ground breaking designers

besides, not exactly planning to sell it later on!

I loved Tiffany's too -- so my FH just took a picture of their ring to a jeweler and had it replicated for my e-ring, and we're now working on my wedding band now. It's just an idea. This will most definitely save oyu some money to get a certain look no matter who the designer is. I know a friend of mine had a Tacori ring replicated and it looks fabulous!!!

I second Tri-County (it's an inside flea market on Hempstead Tpke in Levittown-their whole top floor is jewelry) and also you could take a look at www.ice.com . I found DH's ring on there.

It's on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. It's def NOT used stuff, they sell good jewelry!! It's indoor, not sure of the days that they're open but here's a link to their website!! The big attraction on here is that the entire 2nd floor is all jewelry vendors so you get to see a lot all in one place.

I meant for insurance purposes - if it was lost or stolen.

And I was just stating it for the people who might care. I have plenty of jewelry from Tiffany's myself... but if something happened to it, I'd never get back enough to replace the item from Tiffany's. Just pointing out something that might be helpful to someone.

Re: wedding bands ?

I'm getting mine from www.sumiche.com

Their stuff is so unique and wonderful. I'm having mine custom made by them - I told her what my thoughts were, she sent me some sketches, I picked one, and she made me a wax model of the ring. Right now, we just have to send her a down payment so she can start making the actual ring. She'll work with whatever your pricerange is as well - I actually told her that we'd be willing to pay over $1000, if we felt it was worth it, and my ring is turning out to be only $500 - $600 if I decide to add a small sapphire - and given the price, I think I probably will!
