So we went to the mall today just to get an idea of what kind of bands we like and the pries. OMG I way under-budgeted for our bands!!!! Either the mall is super pricey (possible) or I am delusional (also possible)!!!If people wouldn't mind letting me know what kind of bands they got and price ranges just so I can see if it's just me! lol

FH and I haven't bought our bands yet but we went to look at London Jewelers. I want an eternity band and the ones I saw were between 2k to 3k. Mens' wedding bands seem a lot cheaper. FH looked at some David Yurman ones and those were under 1k. They're definitely not cheap!

My band was a little under 700 and FH got two bands one inexpensive one about 110$. And another 'dressy' one about 350$.http://www.kay.com/en/kaystore/engagement---wedding/diamond-band-1-4-ct-tw-round-cut--14k-white-gold/100006/100006.100007.100012

FH picked a tungsten band from Helzberg and it was $99!! So super simple! He thankfully bought me a matching wedding band when he got my engagement ring. One less things for me to worry about. And we didn't have to count it in the budget either.

If you're looking for gold it's super expensive but there's a lot of great alternatives for men that are much cheaper and can give the look of gold.

I got a white gold band for less than $300 (if I'm remembering correctly - it may be give or take a little) and FH's band was like $125. Pics in my album. You may be better off going to a smaller jeweler. I find the places in the mall and the chain stores to charge more.

Hmmm, thanks ladies, I'm def going to check out smaller jewelers and probably go to the diamond district to see price difference. This is the one thing that I didn't think would be stressful!!!!! Ugghhh

Re: Wedding Bands ...
I definitely second the Helzberg Diamonds recommendation. We got both our bands there, they even customized mine, and we were WAY under 1K for both.I don't know what mall you're close to, but I can speak for the staff in the Smith Haven Mall--they're phenomenal! They have been SO good to us!

We got ours from a friend at The Commack Jewlery Exchange. FH got this carbon fiber ring thing thats suppose to be all the rage and I got a white gold band with recessed diamonds. We paid 900.00 for both. FH ring was 150.00 and mine was 1200 but since we know the guy he cut us a break. I think the best thing to do is to go in with a budget and they should be able to work with you. We told them we didnt want to spend more than 1000.00 and they showed us stuff in our price range.

FH and I went to Rena Marie in East Meadow, where he's been getting my jewelry for years now. Because I have a halo ring and wanted it to look uniform and symetrical, I had told FH about needing/wanting a ring for each side of my e-ring. I also gave him a heads up that it may need to be customized. He gave his usual 'we'll see'. I was quite nervouse about this cause I figured it would be way our of what he was thinking of budgeting for this. I was right, it did need to be customised because of the shape of my ring. We picked the rings out without talking budget (eek) FH chose his tungston ring and I told him I could do one ring for our wedding day and one for our first anniversary or Christmas. His ring was, get this, $90, which is great because I already know that FH will not wear his ring at work (for safety purposes) and each of mine (diamonds and everything) were going to be under $700 each. Since it was less than he was expecting, he said I could have both. YAY! It's not as inexpensive as others have said, but they are exactly what we both want and love! Pics in my 'The ONE' album.

We are budgeting about 3k for our rings. We hope to come in under but we also don't want to skimp. We are going back to the jeweler he bought my engagement ring at which is in the city. He is my dads jeweler and FH said he gave him a good deal.

Re: Wedding Bands ...
FH got his band at Rena Marie Jewelers in East Meadow for $90. I am probably getting one that I saw at the Tri-County Jewelry Exchange. We went to the 'Turkan' booth there and the ring I want (vintage style with diamonds) is about $750 so we'd be under $900 for both rings.

I had the EXACT same experience this weekend. We wont need our rings for a year but I just wanted to gauge some prices and i was DEF. underestimating. Yikes! At full price - mine was close to $2000 and his was $1300 (who knew he'd want such a fancy ring lol). It's a family friend who wasn't there at the time we went, so I'm sure we'll get a break, but I still think it's more money than I anticipated!!
