Just in the bookstore looking at the plenthora of books and magazines out there for brides to be... Does anyone recommend some that they have actually found helpful? Just curious.

They all seem the same...ads!When I first got engaged my mom ran out and bought every magazine on the shelf, they all were the exact same.

My mother-in-law to be also ran out and bought out a bookstore - I laughed when I saw the 4 foot high pile of everything from books of wedding poems, to magazines to 'weddings for Idiots'!! They are all fun to look for, but for a very traditional Jewish bride like myself, my favorite book - I call it my bible :-)- Is 'The New Jewish Wedding' by Anita Diamont. I've almost read it cover to cover! It's for those who want to incorporate traditions into the ceremony/reception and really just make it all unique and your own. I HIGHLY recommend it! (And I am NOT the author, for the record...;-) )

Martha Stewart

I just got Martha Stewart`s Wedding book. It`s got a lot of great, unique ideas for decorations, etc. It`s on sale at Barnes and Noble for $20 - the reg. price is $40. I`ve just started my planning, so I haven`t really used it yet, but I think it was worth the money!

The Bridal Bargain Book - Denise & Alan Fields

It has some good advice on ways to save money, be creative in your thinking, pitfalls to watch out for, etc. They also have a website with lots of good info on gown manufacturers - I think it's www.bridalgowns.com (if that doesn't work, try it without the 's')

I`ve got them all and THE BEST ARE...

Here is a money saving tip. I go to the bookstore on my lunch hour and look thur mag's and books and have my notepad and write down notes and ideas. I buy the ones that have info i really want. I would have spent so much money on this if I bought every mag. Also look into the subscription if your wedding isn't for a while.
