Wedding Brunch(Anyone have/or having one)

Alright so I am thinking about having a brunch for my reception. What do you all think? I want a dj there too. Do you think that people would still dance and have a good time? I was speaking with a friend and she thinks that most people probably wouldn't dance.

dont think that people would dance either.... but im sure thre'd be TONS of socializing so thats good! Are day weddings out of your budget? cuz they run a later than brunches and people ar emuch mor einclined to dance

It's really not a budget thing..well I am on one but...not the reason I wanted to do it...I just wanted something different...I don't want people to be dreading going to another wedding. I don't think they would(because its mine of coarse) lol ...FH has been married before and we wanted to do something out of the ordinary...but still wanted people to dance

Ceremony has to be at reception site

i dont really know many people that 'dread' going to weddings. i would consider a day wedding over a brunch.. JMHO

I know it sounds strange but we really just want the cocktail hour food and then party.

I totally agree especially since the ceremony has to be at the reception site - a brunch would be more earlier than a day wedding and i think it would be harder to find a place to accomodate a very early ceremony time

I don't want anyone to take what I am saying the wrong way...but we are both older..and I have never been into the whole spotlight thing....Some girls dream about it all of there lives..I guess I never expected it to happen to me...so I have no ideas.

i am sure you can customize the food to have this

also in my opinion no matter how early the wedding is - everey wedding should have a DJ

so instead of a sweetheart table sit with the guests

don't have a first dance - you can have a song but you can have everyone dance along with the two of you

you also don't have to have toast or cake cutting

that will eliminate a lot of the spotlight

If you know the group of people you are inviting won't dance than you really don't need an MC

I think pretty much everyone will dance.

That is not strange to want that. Some vendors will do a customized menu for you - you could choose to just do a HEAVY hor d'oeuvre hour in place of a 'dinner hour'. Let people eat/drink and mingle and get down to dancing.

IMO I'd prefer even a Friday night wedding set up like this than an earlier 'brunch' wedding.

So you think I should just set up appointments and tell them what I want? and see what happens....see I am so stressed about this I can't even make any decisions on my own.

Exactly - just tell them what you want and they will tell them what they can do for you - don't worry it will all come together

I would at least start calling around and seeing if that's an option. Don't be stressed, most vendors are more accommodating that you'd imagine. Also, with the economy how it is, I think they are going to be flexible in order to get business through their doors.

It is not strange at all. my FH and I wanted to do the same but include a dessert bar- I feel like the sit down dinner takes up a lot of time... but we didnt' think we could find a RH to do it... plus someone told me they went to a wedding like that and people were starving

so make sure you have extra food passing built in like a buffet
