i wanted to be in the 30k area. but with 300 guests that's next to impossible. just RH alone and its close to that.
Including rings and HM, it's going to be around $100k. But my parents are footing the entire thing (except rings and HM) and I am so lucky to have such generous parents. The biggest cost was The GCH, but even though we are spending a lot, we still negotiated with almost every vendor. Every expense was a personal decision among FH, my parents and me, but I truly do believe that cost does not determine how great a wedding will be. My parents have the money to spend, and so they were willing to lay out a lot. But what is going to MAKE the wedding is the amazing love FH and I have for each other, and the way our families and friends get along fabulously with each other, and the fun that everyone likes to have. And if you have that at a wedding, along with some good food and great source of music, you are going to have a perfect wedding.
Wow these numbers shock me a bit! Our budget is $25K - will prob be slightly over when you figure in all the minute details like our DIY stuff...
We'll probably be between 25-28k...my parents are very generously laying out all the money for the wedding. That doesn't include the honeymoon which we'll be paying for ourselves at around another 5k.

At first I was keeping track of every receipt and now I'm trying to lose track. FH got excessed from his school district and is interviewing for next year so our finances may change but we are still spending a lot. I don't look at rings and gifts and honeymoon as wedding even if that sounds silly because it would just add too much. My rings cost way too much, my engagement gift was too much and we aren't taking our honeymoon for nearly a year so if we factor that in than it will throw our numbers through the roof. Still, without all that I couldn't give a number. His parents are contributing about $10k, my mom's contribution is a bridal shower, we are paying for everything else.
Mine is over $51,000 +++++ .....
Mine is around $16K. I am having a small wedding. Only 80 people. I would have loved to have more people but FH and I are paying for it ourselves, so we had to cut as miuch costs as possible. Plus we only have 8 people in our bridal party. We also chose to get married on a Sunday to cut costs.

biggest mistake of all u just made. dont walk in there telling them u want EVERYTHING.
rule #1. do not wear your ering. TRUST ME. i had a lady at crest hollow (there i said it) greet me by GRABBING my hand to look at my ring. BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGG MISTAKE.
rule #2 do NOT walk in there sweating the vendor. do not act giddy . make them WANT YOUR BUSINESS. YOU should ALWAYS be in control. especially with the economy today, they should be begging for your business. afterall, they work for YOU..u dont work for them.
rule # 3... make the vendors write EVERYTHING down on THEIR letterhead. anyyyytime they cross anything out,especially price, make them initial it. they may call u crazy, laugh, shake their heads.. but PLEASE PLEASEEE trust me.. from personal experience..every quote should be wriiten and initialled by the vendor. def more than 1 place. and any agreements u make,must neverrrrrrrrrrrr be done VERBALLY!
ETA: i sound harsh..but ive been thru hell and back with this wedding planning. a lot of which i dont wish to write about on this site. tears, screaming, door slamming. be smart about it. this is a very happy time in our lives and sometimes we get caught up and forget to act serious.. cuz afterall.. this is a HUUUUUUGE BUSINESS. no1 is your bff, i dont care how friendly and down to earth vendors are. in the end, they are there to make money.
i clicked the 41-50K but that is not including honeymoon and the DIY stuff and other little stuff that FH and I have been paying for ourselves little by little....with all that included it will be 51+
WOW!! I am hoping to stay on the lower end of 20- 30 and i am doing my hmwk and shopping around!!
