Here's mine, it was a cheesecake! So tasty, our guests loved it. With some icing decoration, I think it was buttercream. My mom made it--we also had a tower of cupcakes from the Black Forest Bakery.
And, BTW, the yellow stuff on top was an apricot glaze. Very yummy. And with my colors being blue and yellow, it matched! But that was just serendipity. Although I guess you could do a different glaze for different color schemes--raspberry, blueberry, etc. The unfortunate thing about the first picture--the roses were in those little water containers so they'd stay fresh, and they were supposed to go underneath the bottom piece, where those little feet are, effectively hiding the board holding up the cake and the little feet. Someone stupidly took the water reservoirs off the roses and shoved the rose stems into the cake! My mom was soooo angry about that. It would have looked prettier, and she worked hard to get it that way, building the base out of wood, buying the water reservoirs, measuring the rose stems, etc. Oh well. Once we saw that, they put stuff around the bottom so you couldn't see the feet. I didn't find out about this until later, which was good, I didn't want anything to stress me out at the reception. However, I was so happy nothing probably could have brought me down!

Ours had chocolate ganache on the outside. I LOVED LOVED LOVED my cake.
It was Devils Food Cake with raspberry and chocolate mouse and chocolate ganache on the inside too.
YUMMY!
Do you have a pic of your cake? I want to do a chocolate cake, too. It sounds delish!
