Whipped cream is delicious... just keep in mind that if you want your wedding cake displayed during the reception, it is suggested not to use whipped cream because it melts.

Ours was out during the whole reception and did not melt.

Well that is what my hall told me so I wanted that info out there.

I was concerened about that too, and when I told the hall they said it would be no problem because it was air-conditioned inside where the cake would be.
Isn't that weird how different places tell you different things?
Anyway, we didn't have a problem.

Re: Wedding cake frosting
Have you considered ganache? It's like fudge, but thinner, so it can be used as a frosting. It holds up well to temperature changes and can stay out for awhile. Comes in white chocolate and chocolate chocolate. Might be worth asking about... unless of course you both don't like chocolate. Also, there's cream cheese frosting, but that like whipped cream tends to have a shelf life. HTH.
