Wedding cake thief!

I forgot the tell you guys my POST-wedding horror!!

So after the wedding, DH and I went out to a bar so we sent the top layer of our cake (wrapped in saran wrap really tight so it lasts a full year) home with DH's parents. The next day after the brunch, DH says to me, 'I have something to tell you and you aren't going to be happy but then maybe you will laugh.' Ends up DH's stepmom saw the cake at home last night and thought it was free game and opened it AND STARTED CHOWING DOWN! She took a giant chunk out of the cake!

When I first heard, I cried hysterically! Was also really pissed because she rewrapped it horribly in tin foil AND said she had never heard of the tradition of eating your wedding cake a year later! GRRRR!!

Then after I fixed the wrapping, I had a good laugh (thanks also to some LIW ladies that helped me find the humor in the whole thing) envisioning her sitting in her dress at midnight stuffing her face with my cake!

So lesson learned, if you aren't going to take your cake directly home, make sure to tell your parents it is OFF LIMITS!!
