wedding cakes

hey girls!
For the people who have ordered their cakes:
where did you order from, what does the cake look like, and how much are you paying for it??

I don't know whether I should use the RH cake, or get a custom one. We have a friend at work who makes wedding cakes, and I wanted to get an idea of prices. I'm not sure if we're going to ask her yet.

I ordered from Cakes by Jay. Its going to be 5 tiers alternating orange and white and its going to have a big spider web on the side of it with gold dragees (spelling... the little balls) grouped on it.

FM me for price if you want... I think I got a really good deal so I'm not sure if I should post it on here and then have other customers get mad that they paid more. My cake should feel over 250 guests though and we'll probably only have 150.

we are getting our cake through the RH but she contracts out to the rolling pin in setauket. we gave her a pic of what we want the cake to look like and what we want the filling to be

the cake will be red and white accents instead of the pink and green

We're using the rolling pin bakery, as well. Here is a pic of my cake - the gold itself will be an extra $75.

my cake is also through my RH and is contracted out to Black Forrest in Lindenhurst

We are going with Cakes by Jay also...we are getting a 4 tier cake..our cake is little on the high end in price but with much research he gave us the best deal.
