Wedding Center or Wedding World

Okay I need to ask about the differences between Wedding Center and Wedding World. I know they are both in Commack. Which one is better? I keep reading and hearing different things about both. I am looking to go shopping for bridesmaids dresses. I have one that I like, but I cant seem to get a website for wedding world to work. I know the wedding center has it. Which of the stores is better to go to price and customer service wise?

I've never heard of Wedding World and I live in the area. I would search these boards and the internet for reviews of Wedding Center, as it usually gets pretty horrendous reviews. I was in there years ago and I swore I would never set foot in there again. It's a dump, the dresses are dirty and the customer service is horrible. I'm usually not this negative, but it's a pretty bad place.

Also, I have lots of time before we start hunting for my bridesmaids dresses, but I have been in several weddings and was REALLY impressed with Angel Bridals in East Islip. They were SOOOOO nice and their prices were great. My MOH got her wedding gown there and loved them. It's a small shop, but they have a great selection. It'll be one of the first places I go to when it's time to shop. Hope this helps!

There was a post on this awhile back. They are completely different. I have read some bad reviews on Wedding center but some brides on here have had some success & no issues. Some brides have recommended Wedding World over Wedding Center. HTH!!

Ugh I went to the wedding center today. If you know what you want DONT GO THERE!. I went there with style numbers and ideas of what I want in my dress and the women who helped me was no help at all. I would tell her I didn't want lace and she would give me a dress covered in lace. I would tell her I didn't want tulle and she would show me a gown with a full tolle skirt! She must have told me over and over again that they don't make dresses like what I was looking for even though I had style numbers AND pictures of the type of dresses I want. (they just didn't have them in stock because their stock is a at least a year or so old) It was a very horrible experience. They offered to order the dresses I want for me but I think I would rather go somewhere else. I wouldnt suggest the wedding center to anyone!

If you know the exact dress you want to order/try on the wedding center isn't bad. I wouldn't go there to browse and try on as they aren't helpful. I had my bms order their dressses there but i knew the exact one i wanted. The woman who helped me then was very friendly and sweet and took her time, didn't rush us and she was going to a wedding after our appt. The others there, not so nice or helpful. The dresses were easy to order though, came in early actually and were correct. I even called a day after ordering and added in a jacket for my sister over the phone and that was correct and came in with the dresses.

I ordered a bm dress from the wedding center 2 years ago over the phone and had no problems. Two years later as I am looking for a dress I decided to go and check it out. Nothing good to say. I pulled my own dresses-the lady only wanted me to take 2 at a time and I'm like I don't want to get dressed and undressed a million times. While I'm trying on dresses I hear the owner giving my FH his speech about being in business for 46 years and how they are a one stop shop blah blah blah. Oh I almost forgot, they have an issue with their electricity, everytime I touched something metal in the store I got a shock (I was shocked about 20 or more times) I told a woman that was working there and she pretended that she didn't now about it and later on said its been like that for awhile. The place is a mess. It's one thing if you order a dress that you want from there, but I would not go there to shop.

My BMs got their dresses from the wedding center. I had no problems at all.

My BM got there dresses from there and I had no issues so far (I have a lot of girls and they all went at different times). My sister got her BM dresses form there a few years back and we had no issues either. I think it depends on who you get. I did shop at other places first, sometimes if your looking for a specific dress you should call the places before you go to make sure they have it. I did this for my dress and had to deal with a very nasty place (I think it was Nouve Bridal) because they were the only location in NY with the dress. I tired it on there, but did not like it or them. But at least I got to try it on. HTH

I went to the Wedding Center and was not impressed at all. I was there to try on dresses and they seemed bothered/annoyed to help me. They literally have everything there and great prices from what I see. I used Helen's which is Wedding world or its in the same place. I didn't use any other services so far except for my dress. They are so nice there!!! My dress was reasonable priced. HTH
