Wedding Ceremony Locations - Good One in Queens Area?

Hello all,

I would like to know if anyone out there has any opinions/reviews/advice about a good wedding ceremony location in Queens (Flushing area) or somewhere close by to Queens. I wouldn't mind locations in the city (Manhattan) as well.

We are looking at Queens Botanical Garden - anyone know about this place for wedding ceremonies?

Any and all opinions are appreciated, thanks in advance!

The Brooklyn Botanical Garden is stunning. So is the Water's Edge in Long Island City, Queens.

...unless it rains or is cloudy, in which case the beautiful view is gone...

The Queens Botanical garden is very pretty, but you might also want to look into Kissena Park (http://home.nyc.rr.com/kissena/ ; http://queens.about.com/od/photogalleries/ss/flushing_photos_4.htm) which is not only very beautiful but also in Flushing! I don't know what the policy is regarding having weddings there, but it's something to look into (http://www.nycgovparks.org/sub_permits_and_applications/planning_an_event.html)

There's also the Queens Zoo, the Queens Museum of Art, Flushing Meadow Park, and Socrates Sculpture Park, too.

If you're thinking on Flushing yes you would need a permit- I work for the Parks Dept. (but not in permits dept..lol)..follow the link or call the Queens Boro Parks Department Headquarters at (718) 520-5900 (ask for the permits department).

It is a nice location though and I'm not sure if you have a reception planned as of yet but there are plenty of places to have it.

Terrace on the Park or Caffe on the Green are great places.

Have you tried Douglaston Manor...you are close to the water and it's on a golf course

When I was shopping for a venue I went to Terrace on the Park but I didn't like that the building looked like an asylum and that the elevator was small and reminded me of a wooden box.
The good thing about the place is the view and that you can choose any 5hrs for your wedding, unlike other venues which choose the 5hours for you. I also believed the dance floor was too small.

Good luck. w/your search.
