Re: wedding colors
Well, is there any look you would like to go with? If I wasn't so set on blue for myself, I would have gone with apple red just because I really love that color on satin. Or navy? And if you wanted it to look more formal, that would probably work out well when you bring everything together (ie flowers, decor). Then, since it is August, do something glamorous but light weight. If you are going with something a little less formal, I would suggest pink, lavander, or blue.
Well, good luck

Re: wedding colors
i wanted to do black and white but my 'Aunt' Judy says, ' no black bridesmaids in summer!.'She is my Aunt's best friend and a fashion designer. If 'Aunt' Judy says no...I listen! Now I am going to have aqua!
It's August have a lil fun!!! You can do Aqua or Pastels!! It is going to be hot and black is not fun. I had to wear a heavy Cobalt Blue 2 piece. I was wearing lightweight Addidas pants by the time the reception started!!

Re: wedding colors
If I hadn't worn this color in my brother's wedding, I would have had my sister wear navy. The dress I had was very light and it was an outdoor ceremony. I don't remember being hot. I did love my dress and how it looked in pictures. I love navy and white/off-white combo.

Re: wedding colors
I really like the idea of color in the summer-- as opposed to black. You can also always find an ivory dress for your girls-- something that coordinates-- so you can still do your black and white-ish theme.. you should look into that-- I think it could be very pretty- esp. in August. The place where I got my BM dresses has a couple of off-white options-- I am sure other places do too.
