So, I have been having some problems because I don't see any examples of people using my wedding colors. Now I am worried it is because they don't look good together. We wanted to do navy with red roses and possibly have a red sash on the navy dresses. This is partly to pay homage to our favorite team, the Giants. Also, we got engaged right after the Super Bowl! I don't want to do it though if it'll look bad. My other idea would be navy and medium blue with possible hints of red in the bokay. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Wedding Colors
I said yes, IF it were a very deep navy and a maroon/deep Burgundy color red I think would be great.....also check out my photos in my album at the 'Bouquets I Like' . There are very deep colored roses on the market (not you're typical red). Otherwise it reminds me of the flag....(note: I don't follow sports, so the last thing I would think of is the Giants LOL)
Especially the Black Baccarat Roses!!!!

Re: Wedding Colors
I DON'T WANT IT TO LOOK LIKE A FLAG!!!!!!!!! Hahaha. That has been my biggest fear. I was thinking of throwing in some hydrangea to through off the flag-esque quality.

Re: Wedding Colors
I would do navy dresses, but no red sash...that might look weird.
However, I think bright flowers would look great! Maybe mix it up and do several shades or red roses!

Re: Wedding Colors
I say go for it, I have seen navy and red go together and its a very nice mix. To be very honest I stayed away from the 'popular' wedding colors b/c they can be over worked and over done sometimes. Not saying the popular colors are bad but that is exactly it they are popular NOW. Navy and Red has always been a standard set of colors together-I mean Tommy Hilfigers logo is navy, red and white.
Oh and no one will say it looks like a flag-they will most likely think more along the lines of sailor then flag.
If you do a deep navy blue with a thin red sash it wont be so sailor-ish. And then change it up, do dark dark flowers in red

Re: Wedding Colors
at first i was thinking (and voted) no bc of the flag thing.
but...(i dont know what kind of dress you are going for but i was playing with colors) i think it looks better than i imagined in my head! Depending on if you do a deeper red like this.
Oh my god - that is the dress I am having my girls try on! I love that one and a couple from Bari Jay. That is so ironic that you posted it. Maybe it's a sign that that one is the right one. Thanks for the vote of confidence.

That's another one I looked at - of course the second color sash - not the first!

Re: Wedding Colors
I think it's good as long as it's navy and a deep red...like burgendy.
If you're using navy and a bright red, next to your white dress it will look like an american flag. HTH

Re: Wedding Colors
If you're gonna do it, definately use burgundy as the accent and use Black Magic roses in the bouquets. Otherwise it would look way too patriotic.

Re: Wedding Colors
I wouldn't do straight red - I know that doesn't look good. It would be more claret - like the third pic someone posted.

Re: Wedding Colors
I say go for it i you like it. People both in my everyday life and on here ROLLED their eyes at me sooo much when i said we were doing oraneg and pink with dashes of red. The fms about 'clashing colord' never stopped and you know what?
tThe 'Hot' combos for this Spring and Summers are...
-Bright Orange and Hot Pink -Hot pink and lime green (with or without touchs of orange)
Now everywhere you look, brides are going wacko over these colors after rolling their eyes at me lol. So I say do what you want to do-maybe stick with a deeper read and throw in some white or green accents in the flowers to make them pop a little and not look so 'flagish' if you're concerned.
