I am having the worst time coming up with the vision for our wedding - specifically theme and colors. I know we dont really need a theme but I am all over the place with the colors...im all over the blogs, martha stewart, the knot, etc trying to figure out what I like but I like SO MANY THINGS!!
I'm getting frustrated....i think i like deep purple but with what?
purple and blue purple and orange purple and gold purple orange and gold....AHHH!!

i had a very hard time deciding what colors i wanted to work with for my wedding also! i honestly think this can sometimes be the hardest part for some people, it was for me! :) i didnt know what i wanted for months and than i just made up my mind when i saw the BM dresses i lovee and want and when i saw it in the actual color on the website i fell in love with it and thought itd go great with all my girls and with the season i am getting married in (FALL). the reason i had a very hard time deciding on the colors is because i really wanted chocolate brown with pink! i love love that combo and you can do so much with it! but getting married in the fall it doesnt go so well with having pink! so than i was going to do burgandy and brown than people told me its 2 dark colors and that brown wouldnt go so great cause its dark like burgandy! so i decided on burgandy and ivory and like that combo for the fall! :) and my favorite color has always been any color in the purple family !:)
i think you should go with purple and orange! i like that combo! it looks nice! l:)

I like your idea of Purple, gold and orange. I think its important to have 3 colors so that everything doesnt look to 'sweet 16ish' if that makes any sence. Having 3 colors also gives you more options. Lets say you find a invite you love that has Purple and orange but no gold. That way its just easier and more options when choosing items that will fit in your color scheme. JMO
What ispired me: I found a ebgagment invitation that I loved. It had different shades of pink and chocolate brown. I knew those would be my colors and that all my printed work would have a scroll/swirl design.

I was inspired by nature, well flowers really. My colors are leaf green and cassis, which is pretty much the color of magenta orchids. I love green, love purpley-fuchsia, and love bright, vibrant colors. I love the idea of purple and gold. We are actually using gold as our accent color-we're incorporating it by using gold plate chargers at every setting, gold chiavari chairs, and my cardbox will have gold in it as well as my colors. Ok so nothing inspired me at all lol. First I wanted brown, then I wanted royal blue and yellow. I went through so many ideas and nothing really thrilled me I had thought about black and white at firt and FH hated it So i dropped it. Months later FHs mom said 'ohh black and white is a great combo!' and then FH pretended like this was a novel idea! So we ended up going wiht my first choice. i figured black never goes out of style and I wont be annoyed at my choice 5 years from now!!
I love purple and blue though i think its so pretty!

i have heard this same thing by some other girls who have gotten married (outside of LIW)! they told me the same thing, hehe! that i should pick like 3 colors not just 2! i am definately doing burgandy and ivory as an accent color, and since i have in my head that i should put a 3rd color too (lol) i will prolly add some chocolate brown together with those two colors! or prolly a burnt orange!? but i think the chocolate brown would go better with burgandy and ivory, maybe the orange will be way too bright with those colors! good luck with picking you're colors! :)

I chose burgundy and ivory, with gold accents, because it was season appropriate and I wanted rich jewel tones like something out of old world Venice, not 'traditional' Christmas colors.

I would do a lot of different purples...mix deep purple with lighter purples. Or I'd do purple with a deep red and white. SO pretty!

I love purple too and that's where I began. I'm going with shades of purple and Silver with some greens....and maybe some eggplant or pink in flowers. but main colors are purple & silver. I stressed about it for like 2 whole months, though! It really helped me to put the colors together in an inspiration board. Just collect the pictures of things/colors you love together. It will all come together! Good luck!

I was actually inspired by a picture at my photographers were the bms were in teal on the beach with bright pink flowers. I loved it and ran with it.

I don't think I was really inspired I just picked my favorite color and saw what matched my RH room. So light pink/ivory/white/silver is what I came up with.

Literally... we got engaged... and like 10 minute later (just enough time to catch my breath again).. I kinda sat back.. and literally the FIRST thing I thought of was ROYAL BLUE and went with that. Anyone who knows me knows I love the winter... and the cold, so we all knew I would do it in the colder month... but .....I never really thought about the color beforehand.. it really just popped into my head.
I suggest... close your eyes... and think about the purple... and think about what color you see with that.. and the FIRST color that comes into you head should be the color you do! They will all look great with purple!

it kinda just came together...i was thinking teal and brown originally i chose silvers and blues by chance...it all started with the invitation it was my center stone and we went from there...
