Re: Wedding Date
no doubt - it was either gonna be a may or september wedding - those are the 2 months that FI and I both agree on being ok temperature wise... may IMO was just too soon (any amount of extra months looked good in my book), so september it was!

Re: Wedding Date
We picked August (08/18/02) because we had 6 other couples to consider! We were one of 7 couples to get married last year, and August put us right in the middle of everyone's weddings - we were the midpoint! And we both love the summer.
08/18/02 is all even numbers, which was a huge plus for me (I have a thing for numbers) - and it was one of the only days that our hall was available in August.

Re: Wedding Date
We originally wanted the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, 2004 - easy for travellers, everyone has that Monday off...but the place we fell in love with was already boked - so we picked that Friday (we couldnt synch up the other 2 vendors we wanted for that Saturday). I wanted a summer wedding - we're both Christmas-time babies so something completely opposite for us was a thought. September weather is usually always perfect - not too hot, warm, comfortable.

Re: Wedding Date
pretty much the same reasons everyone else picked sept. i hate hot weather, i hate cold weather. so hopefully my day will be mild. i originally wanted sept 20, but the place we liked was booked that day so we're going with the lucky 13th.

Re: Wedding Date
We definately wanted June because of the weather...and we knew we wanted a Friday night wedding. So the only Friday in June that the North Ritz Club had available was Friday the 13th! So we took it!

Re: Wedding Date
Our date was entirely contigent upon the PBA calendar - getting the groom vacation time to get married wasn't a problem, but he wanted his squad to be able to attend as well, so we had to find a weekend where they could all come. Sept 6 it is!

Re: Wedding Date
FH wanted October....likes the foliage & it's our favorite time of year The rest was up to the church & hall. Well, that & both our mother's b-days are in Oct. One date available was my Mom's b-day. When I asked her how she liked that her response was, 'Great!!! I can have a cake too!!!'- So, I picked the following weekend-lol

Re: Wedding Date
We wanted fall 03, but it was taken by his best friend and best man (didn't want our friends to have wedding overload!) and i didn't want to wait for fall 04. so then we picked spring. Narrowed it down to May, originally were going for the 15th or 16th, but found out mothers day was MUCH cheaper!! so we picked that.

Re: Wedding Date
Well, my brother is getting married June 21 so we had to leave some time (we figured at least 2 months or more) between weddings. He is getting married in New Hampshire and many of our relatives are from out of state so they would have to travel for his and then again for ours.
FH friend was supposed to get married in Sept so we also had to kind of work around that (they have since called it off). We were looking at the beginning of Oct. but it quickly booked up so then we had to look at Aug. b/c we didn't want to get married when it was too cold. We finally decided on August 29....which is also our dating anniversary (it will be 4 years on our wedding day)

Re: Wedding Date
FHs family is all from out of town, and FMIL was pretty insistant that to have people travel to NYC for our wedding it should be over a long weekend. So we looked at Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, and went w. Labor Day because it gave us more time to plan Its the very end of August this year, I always wanted September for the weather, but I figured 8/30 was close enough

Re: Wedding Date
Well the main factor was a lot of our family (both sides) work on Saturdays (own their own businesses) so no Saturdays, that left us with Sundays. I wanted a year to save so I wasn't limited to what I wanted to have or do for the wedding, and we then went to the church and saw what Sundays were available -- that was the deciding factor on the actual date. We also have a lot of relatives in Italy and most of them are already off from work in August, therefore we picked August 17th.

Re: Wedding Date
we picked oct. 23 2005, because fh is a landscaper and late october he has like 2 weeks off until he starts doing a lot of clean-ups. we also picked 2005 so we could save a lot of money.
