Wedding Date...Why

503 days to go!!!

We picked March 20th 2016 because we wanted to plan an off-season wedding to save money. The following weekend is Easter Sunday, so we picked the Sunday before that. It happens to be the first day of spring which I realized after the fact and while I know it likely won't feel like spring, I love the idea of it!

I wanted our wedding date to mean something and FH didn't like the idea of getting married on our anniversary (Feb 27th) because of the snow and possible travel issues. We wanted a Saturday evening wedding. So I compromised and went with April 23 which is the day before we got engaged.

Our date is completely arbitrary. We originally chose 5.14.16 (also arbitrarily), but when the Thatched Cottage went under, I felt adamant that we pick a new date. Also, April was more affordable at our new venue.

Yay!

I have 678 days left :) we picked 9.4.16 just due to the fact that it was the Sunday before Labor Day. There is no other reason behind it.

Fun fact for you, this is a perfect square day. January, April and September are the only months that this would occur, and brides will have to wait until 2025 to get their year to square again. I wanted to pick 4.9.16 (2 squared, three squared, four squared), because I'm a nerdy math person, but I didn't want it to be too early. And 9.4 is my sister's birthday. :-P

We signed our contract yesterday and will be getting married at the East Wind Inn on April 1st, 2016! The date doesn't have any specific meaning behind it... we were mostly looking to book a date that was considered off season to save money. However, since we are a very silly couple with a great sense of humor, April Fools Day is perfect for us.

We chose 5/29/16 not because the numbers have any significance but because it was a way to get the most bang for our buck! It is Memorial Day Sunday so because everyone has off on Memorial Day, it's like getting a Saturday for a Sunday price. We really did not want a day wedding and the Saturday nights are so expensive!

We chose 9/4/16 because it is the Sunday before Labor Day and we got a very good deal at our venue!! Also, all our guests have that extra day to rest after the party of the year ;)

Hi!! I noticed that we had the same date :) That is awesome! My fiance and I kind of figured this date would most likely be a popular wedding date because of Labor Day Weekend and that is why we booked it early! Congratulations to you and your fiance :) At least we both are pretty much on the same timeframe for planning our wedding. We can be each other's checklist lol
