i really had the best wedding day ever. nothing went wrong, at least nothing that i noticed.
so my advice to future brides....i had nothing to drink at all. save the champagne from the toast and a little on the ride to the church. i had a blast at my reception and i could remember everything.
i was very calm in the am....i was excited and anxious, but not stressed.
add your advice...hope this helps

Have some champagne before you go down the aisle! Seriously, a little helped to ease my nerves and I felt much more relaxed at the ceremony.
Best advice ever!!

as far as the sleep aids go, make sure you have a full 8 or 9 hours to sleep. and if you've never taken one before, the night before your wedding is not the best time to start.
i could not sleep, but i just read and watched tv and that helps.

sleep the night before! I was so surprised I slept through the night. Bed at 11 pm slept right until I had to get up at 5:00 am.
The most important piece of advice I received prior to my wedding was to stop what DH and I were doing from time to time, take eachother's hand and just look around at our guests and our reception room, and take it all in. We did this a couple of times throughout the night and having taken those mental pictures was great!
Also, make sure you spend some alone time with your new hubby after the ceremony, those were the most precious few minutes we had!

1. Bring comfortable shoes to the reception!!!! Even if you think your shoes fit and feel fine, after being in them for HOURS, they may PINCH!!!!
2. Smile at all times -- you don't want to be in the video looking PO'd! LOL
3. Sit with your husband and look around the room at all your family, friends, the CP's, etc. Take it in for a few minutes. The day and night go by so quick that you will be glad you did!!
4. No matter what you do, someone at your wedding will say something -- either they are pissed at where they are sitting, whatever, don't let it bother you. This is YOUR day, $crew everyone else!!

ditto for me, and I drank wine the night before to help me fall asleep. I slept like a baby.
Definitely look around every now and then and just take in the details of that moment...I did this at the church and I remember so much of it.
Also, DH and I went into the reception room and just walked around by ourselves before it was opened to our guests and I was able to really enjoy the hard work that I had put into planning the wedding - I was able to see the flowers, menus, favors, cake table, etc. all set up. Once everyone is in there, it is a bit harder to appreciate.

Re: wedding day advice
i would say to definitely have either a church receiving line, OR work it out so that the two of you can be at your coctail hour. that way, you can say hi to all of the guests then, and you dont have to spend the whole reception doing the formal ' go around' to all of the tables. this is what we did, and i have awesome memories of just being out on the dancefloor with DH and our friends and family the WHOLE NIGHT and just really living the moment / enjoying the party that i had spent a year and a half planning.... that, and as far as general wedding advice, NEVER, EVER count on ' making it all back' in gifts..... you'll be surprised at what you get...
