Wedding Day Gratuity

Wedding Day Gratuity

I was wondering if anyone knows what the typical gratuity is for your wedding vendors, and which vendors should be tipped?

Thanks.

Agreed and probably a little outdated.

The first thing that stands out on that list is the Alter Servers. Alter Servers are usually children from the church/school who are donating their time as a SERVICE. I wouldn't tip them!

Maitre D- $3-5 pp. We tipped $4 pp
Bridal Attendant- $100+ depending on service and attentiveness (I tipped $100)
DJ/MC- $50 each.
Videographer- $50
Photog and Assistant- $50 each
Flowers-if you are there at time of delivery, you can tip the delivery guy(s) $10 each.
Band members- we only had a CH band (steel drum band)-we tipped them $20 each.
Makeup/Hair- I tipped $50 each.
Limos- tip included in contract
Waitstaff- included in RH contract; also I heard that the maitre d tip is split amongst the waiters (not sure if that is true?)

JMO opinion of course, but its precisely because the altar servers are volunteering to give up their time on a saturday/sunday to serve the wedding ceremony of people they've likely never met before that i WOULD tip them...again, JMO

I agree...when I was younger I was an alter server and honestly, lots of kids did it expecting a tip! The priests usually will tell you if you are having a mass to consider it... One person gave me a few books (I love to read so I thought it was nice) any kind of token, even a 5$ Dunkin Donuts gift card would im sure be appreciated!
