Wedding Day Lipstick

Wedding Day Lipstick

Hi,
I was wondering how is it that in all the pics I see on these boards that girls managed to keep their lipstick on through the kissing and eating?

It's not like you have a purse with you to carry it.

Did you keep reapplying?

Also, how good to waterproof mascara and make-up for all of the crying. I have a feeling I am going to be a mess!

Thanks

I recall an 06 bride saying that she kept lipstick in her bouquet all day so she could re-apply it.

I just had a small purse at my sweetheart table, so after I sat to eat a little I would reapply. Of course by the end of the night I forgot, but I remembered a few times.

I had a small purse with just lipstick and gloss in it that I kept at the sweetheart table and would occasionally run to the bathroom to reapply. I was concerned about looking like I didnt have enough makeup on, so thats one of the reasons I wanted heavier eye makeup and a neutral lipstick.

Good idea...I am assuming the sweetheart table is the table you sit with your husband at the reception? Sorry for the dumb question........

Was it long lasting lipstick or regular?

Thanks

You should experiment. There's several tricks that I've heard. Matte lipstick lasts much better than lipgloss. Or you could use matte and then put gloss on top, but gloss can be problematic on your wedding day, as wind can blow your hair or, worse, your veil into your gloss and make it stick. You don't want a veil with pink or red smudges on it!

Anyway, one method is to use a stain, and then lipstick or gloss over that. Nars has a good stain. Or instead of a stain, you can cover your lips with a liner pencil--the whole lips, not just the outsides--in the same color, then put the lipstick on top and keep re-applying when it comes off. Another trick is to put on the lipstick, blot, put on powder, then reapply.

This is why I want to get a small handbag, so I can keep lipstick and a powder compact in it and check my makeup all day. Blotting papers, too, as I have oily skin. And, hey, I get to buy a new handbag!

I feel the same way, but I am afraid my pictures will come out bad.

Thanks....I hope the make-up person will help too.

I used MAC Longwear lipstick. One side of it was color and the other side had shimmery gloss that you could put over it. It stayed nice all day and didn't feel gross on my lips. I think I reapplyed the color once all day. My DH kept in his jacket so I could reapply the gloss quickly between photos.
