Wedding Day Photography Locations??
Hello ladies! In search of somewhere to take wedding day photos between the ceremony and reception... Wedding is in Babylon, so hopefully +/- 30 minute travel time would be ideal, if possible!
We are counting on somewhere that his indoor and outdoor options available in the event of a rainy day!
Thanks for your suggestions!

Wedding Day Photography Locations??
My wedding is in Babylon too, at the Venetian in April. There is this park just before The Venetian, Argyle Park, and I will probably stop there after the church. The pics on google look nice. But if the weather isn't that great I'll see what my photographer suggests. I'm using Patken and they know the area much better than I do. Then again I want to use the time as best I can. I don't have a big gap.

I went to a wedding at the Venetian Yacht Club last August and I loved it there! My fiancé and I kept saying how nice we thought it was there.

It's really hard to find a place with indoor and outdoor options. The only one I've really found has been Old Westbury Gardens. Which is beautiful, but pricey. In the event of really bad rain, you're probably better off taking pics inside your venue/church.

Wedding Day Photography Locations??
Im getting married at the Venetian too!!! We are doing a first look. I think I'm gonna do my pics at either argyle or Belmont state park (about 10 minutes away). Belmont has lots of trees and a lake. Argyle is more focused around the lake. I heard from a friend who was a bridesmaid in a Venetian wedding (who got married in June) that there were a lot of wedding parties there and it was hot and cramped and they had to wait awhile at the argyle park location. I don't know what I will do if it rains! Been trying to figure that out :)

Loving all the Venetian brides! We are having a church ceremony and have a few hours to kill with pictures before our reception.
Our photographer (studio 27) and another we met with both told us that argyle park can get crowded and sometimes the grounds aren't well maintained, and we were cautioned against dragging a wedding gown around geese droppings, so be careful!
We looked into Belmont, Bayard Cutting Arboretum ($100) which is about 20 minutes away.
There are places for indoor photos, but far from Babylon.
Westbury Gardens, Vanderbilt Museum ($225 for an hour, $50 if you add a half hour at a second location), hempsted house at sands point preserve ($350 outdoor, $450 indoor and outdoor), planting fields in oyster bay has Coe hall (they allow indoor ceremonies, so I assume photos as well)...
So hopefully that can be helpful for another bride!
But for now, the search continues...!

Re: Wedding Day Photography Locations??
In considering doing first look and bridal party pictures at Beginning Park. You might have to get permits though for photography that big in the park. I looked into it briefly and it doesn't seem to bad for a wedding party. The application really is geared more towards film crews. But I'm doing it just to cover my butt, especially if you're traveling with limos or buses. You can still go in the rain if you're brave. I envision adorable photos with umbrellas haha
Argyle really doesn't have many photo ops other than the falls. It's pretty limited. I wouldn't agree that it's not well maintained. It just has a lot of ducks and geese, therefore lots of geese poop everywhere.

OMG what! I didn't know. To be fair nobody suggested Argyle to me. I found it online. I will definitely disregard it. No place is worth getting poop on my dress. thank you ladies for putting me on to that. The Venetian is beautiful and I'm sure Patken will recommend and give me what I need.

I'm using Patken and I booked Chelsea Mansion for photos. It's a little further from Babylon but it depends on your time frame. They have beautiful outside area but also have many indoor photo opportunities that are gorgeous as well. It is structurally beautiful for photos. Check it out! There aren't many photos because a lot of people don't know about it but when I told my photographer at Patken he was excited that I chose there!!
