So I had posted on here a few months ago about my fsil (my junior bridesmaid). I am beyond upset on how I have been treated by both her and her mother (fmil). First, my FH and I had to purchase her gown because my FMIL is in and out of work because she gets tired of her jobs. Secondly, they live out of state when they went to pick up the gown late, they were told the gown was sold. Than they fought with the bridal shop owner there. The fight was so bad that the bridal shop owner called me up and was crying. Than I was upset because my fsil dyed her hair purple and green (she is 12). After all this we get her a dress cost us more money and now 3 weeks and two days before my wedding she says she is not going to be in the bridal party. I am so upset and shocked I didn't know what to say. My fmil started arguing with me telling me I shouldn't be upset because 'its like trying to put a square peg in a round hole'. Whatever that means. What can I say to these people without ruining my future relationship with them, and without having them ruin my wedding. My FH is so upset by all of this, I feel bad for him because what can he say its his family. He told them they were rude. I want to tell them to not to come to the wedding but I know I can't.

Re: wedding drama...its long
I think it was really nice of you to want to include you fsil in the bridal party, but maybe since she's young, she doesn't really understand the significance of something like that and doesn't appreciate it. Probably when she gets older she will regret changing her mind, but for now, I really don't think you or her mother can make her be a part of it if she doesn't want to. She might be nervous about having to stand up in front of everyone at the wedding, etc. I would say that in order to try to keep everything civil with them, just chalk up the loss on the money for the dress and let her just be a regular guest. At least you'll have your real bridesmaids, and none of them will have green and purple hair!

I have to say thanks for the advice to everyone. I am over it, well getting over it. I am not going to let them rain in my parade. They have actually told us now that they may not come up for the wedding (after we purchased them their plane tickets). I am not going to worry about it anymore. We are getting married in 3 weeks no matter what, so I am going to enjoy it.

If his mother doesn't show up to the wedding, I think your FH will be extremely angry. But, that is on your FMIL, not you. So, I would try not to worry about it.

I would let it go...that day the focus will be on you. Nobody will be cross checking the programs to see who is missing. Someday when she grows up you will laugh about this.
If she is in it....you could just spray on some other color in her hair. or just pin it all up....and stick a big flower in it.
