Wedding Dress

Does anyone have any recommendations for places to look for wedding dresses. I have already been to Kleinfeld's, Bridal Reflections, Saymel's and RK Bridal. I live in Manhattan so any place in Queens, Manhattan or Nassau would be good. I looking for a place with a big selection. I am having a hard time finding dresses with sleeves.

If it exists, its in Kleinfeld...did you have an ok saleslady? I cant imagine you not having a big enough selection there...what month are you getting married?Maybe the sleeve dresses aren't as much around yet?

Wedding Dress

I know some people who went to Michelle Roth. I'm not sure of the name, I think it's something like Amisel(?) - they have a BIG showroom - on 5th in the 50's.

Wedding Dress

My wedding is in February but I would prefer sleeves more to cover my arms than the weather. There definitely are not that many dresses with sleeves. There were a few pictures of dresses that I had that Kleinfeld's didn't carry. I'll keep looking.

The Bridal Building

I am having a similar problem - if you don`t want strapless there isn't much out there. Have you tried the Bridal building on 38th and Broadway?? I can get you the exact address if you are interested. The whole building is full of wedding dress makers (hence the nickname - Bridal Building)- many design their own and many copy very expensive dresses. I have a friend getting her dress made by a woman in the Bridal building and someone else I work with went there and purchased a dress she saw in one the stores. I think I am having my dress made and will probably have it done by a woman there. Good Luck!

Wedding Dress

If you have seen pictures of dresses you liked with sleeves, or know of a designer who makes a few of them, try finding out if they are going to have a trunk show anywhere so you can see their line... OR...if you find a dress that you like, but it has short sleeves, see if the salon, or the designer would be willing to put sleeves on for you. My dress was originally strapless, but I am having straps(that I picked out) added to the dress by the designer. That may broaden your options as far as the rest of the dress is concerned. Hope this helps...I feel for ya!

Wedding Dress

You can definitely have sleeves put on a sleeveless dress (I know someone who did just that and you would NEVER know). So pick out the dress you want and then go from there. I think the place that the place that 'caf73' mentioned is called 'Amsale' and is on Madison Avenue between 58th and 59th (2nd floor).

Bergdorf....

Great selection, great service and not as expensive as you might think. I am using Yvonne and she is just great!

One more suggestion

I have no idea what your price range is, but Wearkstatt is a wonderful bridal salon in Soho, with amazing, elegant gowns. They are pricey (on par with a Michelle Roth or Bergdorf`s), but the dresses and the service are impeccable.

Thanks

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was hoping to stay around $2500 (if not less). I found two dresses I like but have yet to feel like any are 'THE ONE'. I'm not sure I ever will.
