Wedding Dress

I think that this has been asked already, but I will be shopping for my dress in about two weeks. Do I need to bring anything with me when I go to try on the dress? Thanks.

Wedding Dress

Dress shopping was a great time for me, and I have a little advice for you: Wear nice panties. An outrageous number of people saw me in my skimpies and I patted myself on the back time and time again that I went with my Italian lace undergarments instead of the faded cotton pair with the hole at the elastic. Wear a strapless bra. If you choose not to, you may find yourself spending more time topless than you banked on. Or wearing the salon`s bustier that they are ultimately trying to sell to you. Wear clothing that is easy to put on/take off. I wore a t-shirt my first time out, and by the time we were finished shopping, my hairdo has taken a real beating. There I am wearing a dress that costs more than my first car and my hair`s a rats nest. I didn`t bother bringing heels with me, the salon usually has a few pairs around... if you don`t mind. It is, however, essential that you try your gowns on in heels, unless you know you`ll be wearing flats. Even a few extra inches make a real difference for a big white poofy gown. Skip as much makeup as possible. It`s only a courtesy, but EVERYTHING shows up on a white dress. I hope this helps! Have a BLAST shopping!

Wedding Dress Shopping- Some quick advise

I agree with Kersterlm. Wear a strapless bra. Wear easy to get in and out off clothes. Bring a scrunchie or pony tail holder too. It is nice to be able to throw your hair up so you can see it with your hair up and down. I took my own shoes, but that is because I have a size 5 shoe and most places have 6-8 around. I also worn control top pantyhose, on a girlfriend's recommendation and was happy I did. It helps to give the dress a nice line and fit. Most important thing..keep an open mind. Dresses that look horrible on the hanger can look great on. Also, dresses that I thought would make me look huge, actually made me look thinner. Another hint, keep your budget in mind. If you cannot afford a $3000 dress be careful not to try one on. It justs make your decision that much harder. And you will most likely fall in love with what you cannot have. You don't want to be put in that situation. My mom and I also negiotated with the bridal salon. I did not pay the price tag of the dress. Different shops charge different prices for the same dress. Ask what the alteration cap is and what it includes. Sometime bustles cost extra. Lie about your wedding date by two weeks. My salon told me that they know all the girls lie and they lie to the manufactures on top of it, just to make sure your dress is in on time. You will know when you put the 'ONE' on. It is just a feeling that you will have. Have a great time!!!! What shops are you going to?
