wedding dress...

I'm getting married this Oct and have yet to even pick out a dress.....Do any stores sell the dress off the rack? I'm looking to go in August...What you guys think??!

Talk to me - y have you not found a dress - I was looking since April 06 until March 1 2007 - i see that you got engaged over a year ago. Have you been dress shopping? I can recomment tons of stores, but have you been really looking...or are you just panicking? I did.....

I was going to suggest David's too. They also sell dressesoff the rack too. I got my dress there and was able to take it home with me.

wellllllllll.....lol i have been procrastinating BADLY!! I wanna lose some weight before I get my dress so therefore I just haven't gone! I haven't even looked yet!

I am sorry to say this but I think waiting TO GO until August is a recipe for *possible* disaster. There's no guarantee that the dress you fall in love with will be able to come in one month (you will need at least a few weeks for alterations!) and then you might be so stressed! Are you ok with the possibility of just SETTLING on what can come in quickly?

I too wanted/needed to lose a lot of weight before the wedding. Like 30lbs. I was very nervous about going to look for dresses because I just felt like I wouldn't find something that would look right and also felt like it would look different if/when I lost the weight. BUT I did go and after a while of searching found the dress of my dreams. I still need to lose weight, but at least my dress is ordered and should be here in June (knock on wood!).

I would go now and try on different styles and go to a few stores. Worst case scenario, you don't find your dress right away. Best case scenario, you find THE dress and are able to order it now and don't have to stress.

Remember that seamstresses can work WONDERS. Good luck. Don't wait!!!

Try Paradise Bridal, I know they have a ton of discontinued dresses that they sell off the rack and they are almost all in great condition. Good Luck

its just so HARD to really LOOK and be happy when you aren;t happy with your Bod.

I would suggest looking now. It may be very hard to find one off the rack that you like. You may find a dress that you love, but some of them take a few months to come in. Remember they can always be altered. Good luck.

Me too. I actually got my dress when they had the $99 bridal dress sale...took it home same day

Some stores have sample sales, and you can buy it on the spot, but they usually have size 8 and 10 only (bridal gown size) which means if you are regular size 6 & 8

You are getting married this Oct, so if you find one within 2 months, you should be fine. but August is a bit late if you want to order,or you can pay extra for rush delivery for normal order.

i would def start looking...sometimes it takes awhile to find the right dress. im sure you will need some alterations so that will need some time as well. good luck!!!

i would start looking now for a dress just to see what style you like. Then if they assure you that you can buy it off the rack in your size, then wait until you lose the desired amount of weight, and go buy it in August. However, keep in mind this may not work out and also take into consideration alterations.
