I'm getting married at the end of September and I haven't looked at any wedding dresses yet.
Any suggestions on where I should look?
I don't want to spend a fortune on a dress, my range is about $2,000.

Re: Wedding Dress
if your range is 2000, go to bridal reflections in carle place! i went there, and found mine for like 2400 by maggie sottero. YOu can go to the one in massapequa too (they have diff dresses). If you go to carle place, ask for tracey! thats my consultant, i loved her!!!!!!

Re: Wedding Dress
if you don't mind missing out on the 'frou frou' bridal salon experience, try Burtons on 110 in Melville.
I got my Maggie there for hundreds of dollars less than I found it anywhere else, and the alterations (except for the bustle) are included!!

What style are you looking for? Helens Bridal in Commack is where I got my dress. They have very good prices! I think with alterations and everything, it came out to a little over 1,500 and it's a beautiful Maggie Sottero and Midgley dress. Bridal Reflections in Carle Place is not worth going to. Every dress they showed me was over 2000. The one in Massapequa has much more reasonable prices....and it's just as nice. All of the dresses my bridal consultant showed me were under 2000. Lilettes in Baldwin was a little dirty looking, JMO....compared to the other salons. I did not care for the staff, either. Bridal Suite of Bayshore (i think that's what it's called) was not a good experience. I didn't really find much that I liked in there and the people were not too helpful. They told me to look around for myself and find what I like. I went by myself so I had nobody to give me any opinions and when I came out of the dressing room, they were at the other end of the store. I would start off at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa if I were you.

Re: Wedding Dress
If you don't mind going into the city, I got my dress at The Bridal Garden. They get samples from all bridal designers and sell them at 50-75% off retail. The best thing is, all proceeds go to NYC educational charities. Their stock changes weekly depending on what comes in, so don't get discouraged if you don't find anything the first time you go. I saw a Lela Rose, they're known to get some Vera's and other high-end designers, etc. Just depends on what came in that week.
Highly recommend, but warn that it is not like going to a Kleinfeld's or boutique-style bridal suite. They will not wait on you hand-and-foot, won't serve you wine or Champagne, etc. It's every bride for herself when you get there - they'll show you to your size's section and you go through the racks yourself.
HTH!

Re: Wedding Dress
that's a nice budget, i feel like you will have a large selection based on that! i've been to:
wedding center of commack- very nice staff, small dressing rooms wedding plaza in floral park- not a variety of sizes, gave me dresses i specified i didn't want kleinfelds david's bridal
i'm a bigger lady (lol) and had difficulty trying on dresses in my size kleinfeld's so far has been my favorite! if you can get into manhattan i recommend them- first class treatment and totally worked within my budget and brought me dresses to try on based on the styles i showed her from my magazines!!! i hate it when places make you try stuff on that you specify that you don't like!

Re: Wedding Dress
I got mine at bridal reflections in carle place. It was more than that, but they have all different price ranges. They were on The Knot Pick for 2007 and 2008. PPl there seem really nice!

I second Fantasia.. They were fantastic. So friendly and accomodating. They were also able to price match a lower price i got for my dress from a different store.
