How much do you have budgeted for your wedding dress? My Mom is paying for mine...but the one dress I have seen online that I love is $3500. Not sure she is going to pay that much!

Different question but same topic... when do you start looking for a dress? We are thinking of a Sept/ Oct 2010 wedding?
my parents are giving me $1000 for my dress, and if it goes over i'll cover the rest, but i dont want to go over 2000 for everything with the veil, bra and shoes.
my mom bought me my dress and i think it was $1350. i was already mad at that price..i wanted to stay under $1,000. i cant justify spending thousands on a dress. you wear it for like 6 hours and there's no way you can wear it again...so you spend thousands and then pay more to box it up and throw it in your attic to never be seen again. i've seen dresses that are 5k and i've seen others for $900 that i thought were so much nicer...thats just my opinion
I plan to budget about 2000 for everything (Dress, veil, shoes, jewelry, undergarments)
my parents are taking care of anything that i will be wearing that day, they said they plan on spending $3000 total...so hopefully ill find a dress i like for like $1500-$2000 so i can still get a nice veil and shoes and stuff :)

wow my mom is paying for mine too I am staying under 1K there are so many nice dresses that are cheaper I just really have to shop around!
I know someone who made her dress into her daughters communion dress...at least it went to good use!
I am going to try to keep it under 1k becaue my grandmother is paying for my dress and I really didnt want to go over 700 anyway,
