Wedding Dress

Wedding Dress

Only 3 months left and still haven't found 'the one'

Here is what I would like:

Strapless
Sweetheart Neckline
White Satin (as light as possible but not chiffon) with a 'Fit to Flare' shape (a slimmer A-line, but definitely not mermaid or trumpet)
A very light and airy lace overlay which is fitted to the dress on top, but flares more than the satin towards the bottom.
A train (not too long) of only the lace layer, not the satin.
Sparkle, sparkle, sparkle (not cheesy big beads, just something that will add sparkle all over the dress (maybe on the lace?) and that will hopefully show up in pictures.

If anyone knows of a dress or has tried one on that meets the above, please let me know! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

TIA

Re: Wedding Dress

you might really like mine..It's in my album! .it's satin and lace..the train is only chapel length but does involve the satin and the lace and has buttons going all they way down. It's exactly what you would call a slim A-line and looks extrememly flattering on. Its a straight neck strapless that can be sweethearted...and there are crystals although in the pic it's harder to see. Plus you can always add $50, $100 more worth of crystals to any dress. OH and NO cheesy beading at all! check it out. It's a Saison Blanche and was extremely reasonably priced for the amt of lace work on the dress!

Re: Wedding Dress

You can take a look at mine...mine isn't satin..its a silk taffeta...it was SO light and comfortable...it has a slim a line, sweetheart neck line and just a touch of beadwork to give it a sparkle in the light...check my wedding album as well as fitting albums. It was a demetrios dress and I would recommend wearing it to anyone! it was so comfy!

Re: Wedding Dress

If you really can't find the dress, maybe you can have it custom made? You obviously have a really good idea of what exactly you want. If you get someone who can do a great job in like 2 1/2 months that'd probably be your best bet.

Otherwise you might have to settle a little bit...there might not be a dress out there that looks exactly like that.

Also, have you tried looking at dresses outside of that specific sillouette, etc? You might surprise yourself with what you like!

ETA: Also, I know most bridal salons will cut out the satin from under a lace overlay train so that its just the lace...my salon offered to do this but I love my dress the way it is so I declined.

Re: Wedding Dress

My dress is A line and lace from top to bottom. It's beaded through the whole dress and has a train as well.
I'm wearing Augusta Jones.

I have pics of a VERY VERY similiar dress in my album.

It's not sweetheart but I'm having them cut it into sweetheart!

Good Luck finding a dress!!!!

I can't believe you are still looking with 3 months to go!! I HOPE YOU FIND THE ONE SOON!!!!!

It's a stunning dress and looks like it meets everything I want! I just looked it up on the website and it's a little out of my price range ($3k - $5k)

Re: Wedding Dress

i got really lucky and got mine at a sample sale...it was a dress a girl ordered and then ended up canceling the wedding! its worth a shot to call them and see if the sample fits if they would sell it to you??

Re: Wedding Dress

Wow! Thank you so much ladies! A lot of the dresses you have shown me are gorgeous and some I'm quite interested in. Now I just have to find them in salons and hope I can get them in time. Oh, and I have considered having it made, there is a dressmaker I used for alterations on my MOH dress for my sister's wedding this past week. I guess the search continues... Wish me luck and if you happen to see any others, please share!!!

THANKS!!

Re: Wedding Dress

Sounds like what you would like would be a pronovious dress maybe-- their store in NYC is beautiful and alterations are included in the price if you go to the Manhattan flagship location. I am sure that other stores around LI carry their styles but probably won't do the same thing w/ iincluding alteration fee.

You would have to check if they can get your dress in by your date... but I would definitly check out their line! Lots of lace, shiny and fit to flare stunning dresses.

Lots of luck but definitly check them out!

Re: Wedding Dress

My first wedding dress, the one that was not 'the one' was similar, although in the stock photos it looks like the lace and crystals and pearls are a different color than the dress and they are not...

Alfred Angelo and DB carry the dress styles you are looking for. You will probably have to do a rush order but it's worth checking out on their websites. Good luck.
