Wedding Dress Alterations

Can anyone recommend a very good seamstress for dress alterations? I found 'the' dress this weekend and bought it (Yeah)! Problem...I DO NOT trust the shop one bit due to reputation and want the dress altered by someone else. It will need to be brought down about 2 sizes as well as shotened and the lace will need to be moved! I have heard such horror stories about them and from my weekend experience I have concluded that they are all true! The owner is such a shark! I will post the name and experience after I have the dress safely in my hands. I got the most incredible deal so I felt like enduring their wrath was a necessary evil but I want to take the dress and run once it comes back from the cleaners. If someone can help I would really appreciate it.

Haha sounds like the wedding center to me! I got a couple numbers for alterations people...julz33 went to her first fitting a couple days ago from a woman who works out of her home...I may use her if it goes well with julie...

I'm in the same boat! Any info on where I can go for my alterations would be greatly appreciated!! TIA!

Actually it isn't the wedding center. I had read complaints about the place I bought my dress from, before even going, on the web but figured no harm in just going and trying on dresses since they carried the 2 designers I wanted to see...Never in a million years did I think I would fall in love with this one dress from a designer I have no clue how to find anywhere else. I did searches but no go. Daniel Thomas? He does amazing work though, well obviously if I purchsed from these sharks! The owner was just so tasteless! In talking to me, about 4 customers walked out because she was just being so obviously shaddy and underhanded. That is why I just cannot wait to have the dress in my hands and start having fun with this dress experience. Needless to say the place has 8 complaints against them (which I feel is very low for this place!) with the BBB. My little Rant for the day....
