I bought my dress online and was wondering if anyone could recomend someone. I just need a little hemming on the bottom and thats it! And how long you think it will take, and how much? TIA

I've heard that Phyllis from Bridal Elegance will do alterations even if you didn't buy the dress there. Other than that, i'm not sure. Sorry.

I've gone to a tailor on union blvd in bay shore. it's in a very small free standing building called tailoring by jean. I looked on yellow pages for you and the only thing i can find under tailor is: Antos Jean 631-665-2960 1564 Union Blvd Bay Shore NY 11706-7320 Not sure if this is the address but I think the building is close to 5th ave on the south side of the road. Also, I got my dress altered at burtons. If you call them, they may be able to do it for you even though you didn't buy the dress from them.

I am getting my dress altered at Angel Bridal in East Islip. I will be getting it back soon, so I can't say whether they did a good job or not yet. But I have heard good things.

Hello! I have an AMAZING seamstress- I've sent many friends to her and I will be using her myself. I actually have one for Bridal and one for Bridesmaids/formal wear- they both live in clean/smoke free homes and get their work done in a timely manner. Please FM me- I don't know if I should post phone #s... You will not be disappointed!

If that is all the alteration you need maybe try a dry cleaner. They usually have a seamstress there certain days of the week.

Update from post above: The seamstress at Angels Bridal did an excellent job with my dress and my mother's dress, so I highly recommend her.
