Wedding Dress Annoyance

Wedding Dress Annoyance

I need some help if anyone can offer some advice. I went dress shopping at Davids Bridal in Lake Grove, tried on 23 dresses and the last dress #24 was my dress the one that I loved and was comfortable in and thats the one I wanted, mind you the store was closing in 10 minutes and we have been there for 3 hours. I didn't know that they were an off the rack type of store where if they have your size on the rack and its the color you want that's the one you have to take....to me, even though they will clean it, its like wearing someones dirty underwear. So now upset I am trying to find the dress somewhere else, so far I have gone to Andrianne's in Islip, I have called Village Bridal in Babylon but no one carries that designer. Its a Michaelangelo Dress its the one I want but I have no idea where else I can find it. Anyone have any suggestions? I am beginning to think that they are a designer only for Davids Bridal and if so...that really stinks...anything would be appreciated at this point, talk about excited and then crash....

Have you tried a different David's Bridal? They should be able to order you a brand new one in your size....try speaking to the manager if they give you a hard time.....Good Luck

I think you order it even if they have your size that you want. I would request to order it!

We tried that, the only way they will order it is if its damaged, if its not the right color you wanted, or if its not in your size. I mean they said they will clean it and everything but with a big store like that do you trust it?

a few months ago a bride had posted almost the same problem as yours. If i remember correctly.... the out come was she went and complained to the manager saying she wanted that dress but a new one and after alot of b i t c h i n g she got the dress ordered. Another bride was saying that the sales person gets more money if u buy the dress off the rack. I also think if u order it it will cost you more money bc its new... but i dont blame u i would want a new dress. I would try another davids bridal or fight for the dress. Good luck and keep us posted!!!

I agree. with the other girls... i feel like other brides have ordered their dress from David's Bridal. So I think taking to the manager will work or going to another David's Bridal.

I went to David's Bridal and I thought some things were pretty, but then I went to other bridal stores and found much better dresses. I think you'll be able to find something you like more....keep looking.

I called and they said the same thing. Its the fact that I love that dress its my dress...Maybe I will go there and complain. I mean when we went my mother was talking to them and said we didn't care if we paid more to order it. But they wouldn't budge

Re: Wedding Dress Annoyance

from what i have read in wedding planning books, davids bridal has their own designers so i dont think you will find them in any other stores. however most of their is off the rack except for certain dresses that are custom order. i read that alot of people have problems with custom order because they delay the order etc...

I think with David's Bridal they would order it for you. When I went to the one at the Source, I heard several people placing orders. But, honestly, I think that they just would give you a sample they have from another store. I've heard things where even the brand new 'ordered' dress can have stains or tears...

Yes, David's Bridals designers are exclusive to David's Bridals- BUT, they copy alot of designers that are found at bridal salons- I know that Emme/DaVinci is one of them- what I would do is post the dress pic and see if anyone recognizes it! Good Luck... P.S. you have FM

that is strange - i tried on one that was on the rack, and it was my size, but they still ordered one for me. I didnt go on Long Island though, I went in Nanuet, NY.

I would def ask to speak to a manager about that - some people in David's are just ridiculous and rude...

I would totally have them order me a new one, or unfortunately keep looking.

I do like the comparison to dirty underwear
