I need some help if anyone can offer some advice. I went dress shopping at Davids Bridal in Lake Grove, tried on 23 dresses and the last dress #24 was my dress the one that I loved and was comfortable in and thats the one I wanted, mind you the store was closing in 10 minutes and we have been there for 3 hours. I didn't know that they were an off the rack type of store where if they have your size on the rack and its the color you want that's the one you have to take....to me, even though they will clean it, its like wearing someones dirty underwear. So now upset I am trying to find the dress somewhere else, so far I have gone to Andrianne's in Islip, I have called Village Bridal in Babylon but no one carries that designer. Its a Michaelangelo Dress its the one I want but I have no idea where else I can find it. Anyone have any suggestions? I am beginning to think that they are a designer only for Davids Bridal and if so...that really stinks...anything would be appreciated at this point, talk about excited and then crash....

Re: Wedding Dress Annoyance
The problem with David's is that they do not order 'new' dresses. They do not order at all, they will simply call another store and get the dress in your size. They lie to their customers and tell them that they 'order' them. Also 'MichelAngelo' is their 'designer', it is a name associated only with David's. You will not find it in another salon.

that is strange - i tried on one that was on the rack, and it was my size, but they still ordered one for me. I didnt go on Long Island though, I went in Nanuet, NY.
I would def ask to speak to a manager about that - some people in David's are just ridiculous and rude...
Well my mother and I figured it out, if the sales girl finds your size and you buy the one off the rack they get comission from that and its more then what they would get if you had to order it.

Thats what we figured. And thats what I was worried about after all of that and say I complained and complained and they finally ordered it...How would if I ordered it at the one at the source that they wouldn't just get the one from lake grove (which is the one I tried on and it was discolored)
