I am going to David's Bridal tonight for my first dress appointment. Even though I seem to like fit and flare, I plan on trying on all silhouettes to see what looks best on me. I at least what to walk away from the appointment having a direction for my dress.

I would try on a few different thing. I found even dresses that are considered the same style just fit differently based on material and what not. Have a great time!!

Have fun!! I was surprised too when mermaid style looked really good on me and I thought it wouldn't. I tried on another that I thought I would loooove and it was just boring on me! It's lots of fun

I went to the David's Bridal in Queens and I had a pleasant experience. Bonnie, my consultant was patient with me and not pushy. I think I tried on 10 dresses. I didn't buy a dress, but there was one that everyone liked. It is something I didn't picture myself wearing and doesn't match the theme I am planning for my wedding (purple and white glamour). It's an ivory lace trumpet gown with subtle pink flowers. I really have to think about if I want to change things up. Atleast I know for sure that I want a fit and flare or trumpet. The ball gowns are pretty but they overpower me. I'm glad I have another appointment at a different salon later in the week.

I agree!! You have an amazing body shape! I can see how ballgown would overpower!! I love the dress BUT look around...if you dont want to change the theme then let the dress find you. Shop around a lot...Davids Bridal obviously only sells Davids Bridal dresses but go somewhere and look around. I know its weird...but Estelles has Mon Cheri, a few Allure, Marys Bridal and some others I forget now...you can jus try on as many as you like..they are really nice. Then you can make appt with a bridal salon too. I went to Estelles as my first place because I knew they wouldnt pressure me and I could try on different styles so I would get comfortable with wheat I liked and then when i knew which shape would work best I started going to other places. I was really surprised they had name brand wedding dresses. Don't get me wrong I have gotten mnay dresses at Estelles over the years but just didnt know they had a real bridal dept.

Yay! Good Luck! Like everyone said, definitely try on all types of dresses and styles even if you think you don't like them because most of the time the dress you choose is far from what you thought you wanted. At least that happened with me!

Beautiful dress! Keep looking though. I seem to all in love with one at each place I go to. Sooner or later I think that feeling of THIS IS IT will come over you and you'll know!
