I just brought my dress to get dry cleaned. It cost $120! Is this the going rate to clean a dress?
Also, they wanted to have me get the box to preserve it in but that would cost $300!!! Does everyone do that or just clean them and hang them in a bag. It just seems very expensive to me and not necessary.
Thanks!

Re: Wedding dress cleaning
thats actually the average price, pretty good actually. I will put it in a box and not in a bag only bc after time in the bag it will get yellow

well i dont think they just throw it in a box, i think its sealed first in a bag or something, not sure. Also they do a whole process of preserving it first, they clean it with certain things so it doesnt turn yellow. But i would just look it up and figure out what they do if you want to do it yourself. BUt i wouldnt just put it in a box. Theres also a certain type of tissue paper i think that goes around the dress
I had my dress preserved through Paradise Bridals in Patchogue. It cost $225 and they clean it and then shrink wrap it. They take all of the oxygen out so it doesn't yellow. They put it in a box that has a flap like a story book. You can see the dress through the window. It looks so pretty and also my veil, shoes and garters are in there as well.

Re: Wedding dress cleaning
I just did mine through wedclean.com They were $230 for the cleaning and preservation of both my dress and veil. It is an online company and they send you the shipping box. They send it back to you preserved and from what I understand it has a clear cover on the box so you can see that it is your dress. Plus, I can pull it out and reminisce anytime I want!

I had my gown cleaned and preserved at Meurice's Cleaners in Manhasset - it was about $550.
