Wedding dress cleaning
Anyone know of a good place to get my wedding dress cleaned and boxed for a reasonable price? I don't want to part with it but I also don't want to break the bank to keep it in a box. Thanks!

I got my dress through David's Bridal and we got the $99 preservation kit. I recently shipped the dress out and it should come back packed in a box within a few weeks.

Re: Wedding dress cleaning
We live in an apartment and I was nervous about how big the box was from the dry cleaner. I decided to use a cloth and detergent and clean the hem myself (wasn't bad). I purchased an archival box from The Container Store for $35 and wrapped the dress in archival paper that came with the box.

Thanks I was quoted $300 at my dry cleaners and didn't buy my dress from David's Bridal. Where is this dry cleaner that charged $150? Although I guess that might be at $200 by now right?

I used http://www.mygownpreservation.com/. It was $150 and you can track your dress thru the entire process. They said it takes about 8 weeks but my dress was returned to me in about 3 looking good as new and packed perfectly in the preservation box. Highly recommend! My dry cleaner wanted to charge me $500!!

WOW! Very smart idea! I wonder if a vacuum bag would work?
