I am thinking of going to look at dresses soon and I was wondering, do you leave a deposit or the entire amount is due up front? Or does it differ per salon? Thanks ladies

i had to leave 50% for them to order it. im not sure if that is every salons protocol.

I left a $200 deposit to hold the sale price because they were having a trunk show. When I give them 50% they will order it. I'm going to do this closer to my 1 year mark.

It does vary for each salon on how much the deposit you leave is, but I think you have to leave a deposit no matter what. I had to leave half the total of the dress as my deposit.

My salon didn't tell me how much to put down. i just gave them whatever and they were fine with it.

I think it really does depend on the salon, but I think normally you have to leave at least 50% of the cost of the dress. I used to work at a bridal salon and before we could place an order for any dress we needed a 50% deposit.

My deposit was 50% at Macy's Bridal. I think 50% down is pretty common.

I forget what it was at Paradise but they allowed us to charge the deposit too - gotta get those reward points for the honeymoon!!!

I had to put down 60% to purchase the dress. I had the option of putting down $100 to guarantee the manufacture would make the dress when I was ready to buy (in case it was discontinued). I have to say I had a fabulous experience at Bridal Suite in Bay Shore and my dress came to less than half my budget!! Happy hunting!! It's so much fun!!
