honestly, dont go buy the label. go by what you try on and love! i did this and was SO glad i did!

exactly this. I was hung up on trying on a certain designers when I first started out and didn't even bother looking at others thinking they weren't in my price range. Then I saw 'my dress' (a San Patrick) and was so happy to learn that it was in my budget!
When you go dress shopping, just let the lady know your budget and what style you are looking for and have her pull some dresses for you. Bring in a few examples of the type of dress you like and let her go from there.

I looove Jim Hjelm dresses, there's one in paticular I want to try on when I go dress shopping but how expensive are they?

I wore Rivini...she's from Canada and she works with lace a lot. Not sure how low she goes but mine was pricey (over 5k)....

this! these are the two designers who had my favorite two dresses. ended up with a maggie
But i wouldnt go in looking for designers...go in with a budget and stores will show you what is available. it would be terrible to fall in love with a dress that is twice your budget just bc its a designer you like. It happened to me...i tired on a demetrios dress that didnt have a price tag...it was overbudget. but in the end i love my maggie

thanks for your suggestions everyone!! I'm not really into the whole 'have to have a certain brand' mentality, just trying to get an idea for style purposes since there are soooo many out there. Definitely looking to say under $2K at the absolute HIGHEST!

I definitely see how disappointing it would be to go in and fall in love with a dress that's wayyyyyy out of the price range. That would not be good.

Agreed! Try on a lil bit of everything; you'll start to realize which designers styles you do/dont like or dont like the way they fit and be able to eliminate or narrow your designers down.

ITA... the most I was will to spend on a dress was 5 but I wanted one with color incorporated in the design I wound up falling in love with an Alfred Angelo for a little over 1k and got my girls dresses from Alfred Angelo as well. Go with how you feel but make sure you know the max you are willing to pay. My friend was on a tight budget and couldn't go over 500 and at davids bridal she love a dress more than that and hated her dress up until the day is her wedding

I tried on a few of them..which on are you eying?? maybe I can remember the price. MIne came to around 3,000 but it has no beading...the ones that have more detail get more expensive.

you can definatly find an amazing gown for under 2K... i went in with a budget of 2500 but wound up spending way below that... im going to be wearing a James Clifford gown... i loved the maggie sottero dresses too but it seemed all the ones i tried on i just got lost in all the fabric!!! her gowns are AMAZING though!!!!

My opinion forget what designers you like and try on the dresses, you might surprise yourself and find a dress you love by a designer you never thought you would like.. I never thought I would be a Lazaro bride and I AM!!!
