Wedding dress frustration(long)

Wedding dress frustration(long)

I needed to vent guys.
On Monday, I went w/ mom over to RK to try on my dress. While trying the dress I tell the person helping me, okay so when do I schedule my dress fittings. The associate looked at me suprised & tells me that I was suppose to sched my fitting appt the day I ordered my wedding dress. I had a Bridezilla moment and ask to talk to the associate that help me last time, it turns out that the associate (Amber) is no longer working with them. I was so upset b/c when I purchased the dress the associate KNEW I needed alterations for the wedding dress and did not at any moment tell me to schedule the fitting then. She just swiped my card and told me when my dress will be in.
It turns out that I was supposed to also get an email confirmation 2 weeks after ordering my dress that reminded me about scheduling the dress fittings, which I never received. I really feel I was played. The only thing they could do was give me these bogus dates of their choice which I could not make or go to a Brooklyn address . The associate did not even let me tell her which days of the week I was available. I am so frustrated with RK, I cried myself to sleep last night. I am so worried my wedding is only 3 month away. Have any brides had problems with RK. I just do not know what to do.
I took pictures that I was hoping to post but I am crying/frowning on the pics.

I am so sorry to hear about your dress. Can you bring it to your own seamstress for alterations. That way you can get it altered on your schedule and not theirs???

I haven't had any problems with them so far. I would see if you could find a seamstress to help you, I'm sure there are some people who have good recommendations for you!

Good luck!

Sorry but that is total BS. I ordered from RK.

I scheduled by fittings once my dress came in (they called and I went to try it on)-- they typically do them about 8 weeks out.

go somewhere else for alterations.

You could go anywhere for alterations! Don't let them get to you!!

Don't feel bad, I'm the week before you and my dress isn't even IN yet!! We don't need to start fittings until the 2 month mark, so you've got time to find a good seamstress.

I don't get this. I understand you are upset, but I think it's a little much, no.

You have three months to the wedding. I am sure they have an appt book, with slots taken by brides that are getting married BEFORE you...the idea is like another other appt. you make...pick a date that is mutually convenient.

anyway, RK is a NO FRILLS place...no one there is going to fawn all over you.

my point is, don't let stuff like this get you upset...this is not the end of the world...there will be plenty of other stuff to get upset about as time comes.

call them and schedule your appt. everything will work out.

Re: Wedding dress frustration(long)

I have read MANY times over on this site that the alterations at RK are hit or miss. So maybe this is a blessing and you can have your alterations done elsewhere.

I don't know where you live but Phyllis at GownFind gets rave reviews.

Also, check this thread:
Alterations

Good Luck!
