I honestly think different styles flatter different body types. Only way to know obviously is to try on all styles.

I prefer halter over stapless becaue of the security that the dress with not fall or tugging on it during the course of the day.
ITA! I went with a halter also. I want to feel comfortable and not worry about pulling the dress up. The dress I purchased isn't too heavy so I know that the halter will not hurt my neck. Although I'm not large on the top, I felt that the halter style dress flattered my figure and I felt amazing in it..
I love the way strapless looks also; however, I didn't feel comfortable when I tried those dresses on.

You have to try dresses on. When I put on halters, I just wasn't very comfortable. When I put on 'tank' dresses I looked broad. Strapless was the most flattering on me. You have to see what works for you.

Re: wedding dress: halter or strapless?
I think it really depends on your preference. Brides who want to show off their shoulders and want a soft/romantic look, strapless gowns can achieve that look with the hair worn down. It's also good for ladies who have a bigger bust. Halter are a more sophisticated look with the hair worn up and is great for giving that oomph for ladies who have smaller bust. I personally like strapless b/c it stands out more in photos and it's easier to move around w/o having something tied around the back..

strapless....its a personal prefrence....i think halters are better for shirts, and even then i used to wear them way back when, not anymore.

I just love how a strapless gown looks. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with halter dresses; I just prefer strapless for myself.

of the dresses I have tried on so far, I realize on me strapless is definitely the way to go. The halter look just does not work on me.

it is weird that all those pics are from the back...
but whats weirder is the statement... as if dresses werent a personal preference... if you dont want opinions dont ask the question.

Re: wedding dress: halter or strapless?
my dress is strapless but I need support and have never liked the traditional halter design wedding dress...BUT then the owner of the salon brought a bling beaded strap that can be used in a halter style and I absolutely love it! It's really flattering. Pic in my album!
