Wedding Dress Help??

Wedding Dress Help??

Hi Everyone - I just started shopping for wedding dresses recently and it's been overwhelming! Are there particular brands that are 'good' (i.e, trendy, classic, designed to fit well, good material, etc.) that I should look for in order to help me narrow down my search? I tried on a dress from Marisa that I kind of liked. Can't remember the other brands. I have heard of Amsale and others in that class, but unless you can get them at a significant discount, they might be too expensive for me. I am really looking to stay under $2000 (well under if possible!). Thanks for your advice...

P.S. I live in NYC, my FH's family lives in Massapequa & my family is from Yonkers. Any recommendations on bridal shops in any of these areas. Thanks!!

When you go to try on dresses, make sure you tell them your budget. That way they won't show you a $6000 dress that you might fall in love with.
My dress is by Jasmine Couture, both of the Jasmine lines have really beautiful dresses in the price range you are looking for.

I tried lots of mid-price designers gowns (Maggie Sottero, Demetrios, Marisa, Forever Yours) - the dresses ranged from $500 to $2000. I am very busty and the Maggie dresses fit me the best b/c most of them have a corset lace up back. If you just want to see dresses I would recommend RK bridal in midtown Manhattan. It's like a 'warehouse' - they have so many dresses from a ton of designers. The service isn't that great but it may be a good starting point.

i bought a watters dress. they have lots of different styles in your price range. the best thing to do is go to a store and try on things in your range. you many start to see one or two brands you like more than the others.
i like bridal design loft in manhattan.
