My best friend had a coat over her dress and when she took the coat off her dress was strapless and beautiful.

I have seen a coat over the dress. REcently the new thing is a lace coat. Priscilla of Boston has a lot of those style.
i remember the Will & Grace eposide where Grace got married she wore a beautiful coat with a fur collar.
