Haven't gone wedding dress shopping, but I've been looking more and more online and I feel the itch to go start trying on! I don't wanna try anything on yet til I get rid of some more extra weight I have gotten in the past few months.
Just wondering since I've heard soo many different answers/comments, how long does it usually take for the dress to come in? Am I behind sched?

you are def not behind schedule. my wedding is in 9 1/2 months and i havent tried on dresses yet and dont plan on it til im bw 7 and 8 months. i need to loose weight to before i think about trying anything on.

ok i started getting worried i had a feeling what i heard was wrong but then started worring, i was told it would take a 9-12 months for the dress to come in lol when i heard it i thought nothing of it (ive watched plenty of say yes to the dress i should have known better lol) but iguess they just planted the seed lol

I HAD MY DRESS ORDERED IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR....THE STORE WHERE BOTH MYSELF AND MY MOH ORDERED FROM TOLD US BETWEEN 6 AND 8 MONTHS FOR THE WEDDING DRESSES TO COME IN...I ASKED WHY SO LONG AS THEY SAID THEY ALWAYS LIKE EXTRA TIME IN CASE THE DRESS COMES IN AND WINDS UP BEING DAMAGED OR ITS AN INCORRECT ORDER/COLOR/SIZE, ETC. THIS WAY THEY HAVE A BIG ENOUGH WINDOW OF TIME TO GET A NEW DRESS IN WITHOUT THE BRIDE KNOWING AND STRESSING

I really want to go dress shopping too but I really want to lose some weight before I actually try anything on and so far I haven't been successful at all.

I think the time frame is 9-11 months, so you have plenty of time!!
I totally have the itch too! I've only tried on 3 but have looked at what seems like hundreds online and in magazines.
I have several appointments next friday and saturday when my sister/MOH is in town and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I just got mine about a month and a half ago and it isnt coming in until december... I had another friend who got her dress from the same place and it took 13 months to come in!!! It does depend on the place you buy it at though. The only downside about trying dresses on early is you might fniod something else you like more, especially on these boards!!!! GL! HTH!!

I wanted to lose weight too before trying on and I thought well then I will never have time to shop for one. I must be the craziest because I don't even have to wait for my dress to come in. It's already sitting in the store crying my name out.

I'm waiting till this fall (prob nov) to start looking for dresses. I may go before hand to macy's just to try on different styles cause I don't know what will actually look good on me before I get down to some serious dress shopping business :p
Also figured the fall would be the best time cause the spring collections for the following year will probably be out.
btw, who would you say the most popular designers are for wedding dresses?

I started shopping for dresses about 2 weeks after we got engaged in July. I found my dress in January. Ordered it in Feb and it should be in by late August/early September of this year.
I was told 8 months, and then I was told it would come in later (around November/December). But I guess it all depends on who you go with and where it's coming from.
Good luck shopping. If you can, bring a camera with you. Just know that some places won't let you take pictures unless you're putting a deposit on it. It helped me to realize what I liked and didn't like.

i could not wait to strat tring them on. I went right away and found my dress. I did order it and it came in right way, there was a small hole in it sent it back and got the new one right way.
i think the amount of time it takes to get the dress depends on the designer
main reason i got mine so soon was that it was on sale!!!!
