Wedding Dress Question

I was just wondering how long it takes for everyones wedding dresses to come in? I am getting married November 20 of next year and was planning on ordering my dress in March.This gives 8 full months but Im thinking back to all my friends that got married and they ordered it a year in advance! Am I slacking on this issue?

i got mine from Davids Bridal and had it in a week so im no help as far as that goes... but i think you should start looking at about a year... then by at least 8 months you should have ordered something

When I ordered mine, they said it could take anywhere from 6 - 8 months. But it definitely depends on the maker I'm sure.

depends on the designer, if youre changing anythong on the dress, etc.... mine took almost 10 motnhs

i ordered mine early cuz it was an older style and i was afraid they'd discontinue it. They told me it would take 3-4 months. I got the phone call that my dress was in at a little less than 2 months. I think it really depends on the designer. I know some can take up to 10 months.

I bought mine at David's Bridal a few weeks ago. According to the receipt, my dress should be coming in around the end of this month...So I guess its around 6-8 weeks.

Only reason I got it this early was because I was afraid I'd be unable to order one if I waited too long. Also, I feel more comfortable knowing I can still have time to change my mind should I miracously drop 30 lbs from now until summer 2010 and consider getting another gown.

i got mine at Macy's Bridal and it took about 4-5 months.

My dress is a Lazaro. I got it at Manhasset Bridal Salon. I just ordered it about a month ago and Im getting married in July. They said that my dress should be in Feb-march- so app. 5 months or so.

I was cutting it close ordering it 7 months before hand. You also have to factor in time for dress fittings

They told me I needed to order a least 9 months in advance....if you can I would start looking sooner rather than later.

When I ordered mine they told me Eve of Milday dress' can take 10 months to come in!

I was told by my bridal consultant that you need to get the dress no later than 8 months before the wedding.

I bought mine through RK Bridal and it took 2 months to come in. But so far I seem to be the quickest out of my friends in receiving it...

I ordered my dress from kleinfelds, its Lazaro and they said it will take 10 months to be made.

oh wow, You girls are so helpful. (that was my first post on this forum) I am going to start looking next month and see what the bridal dress people say re whatever dress I like. My concern is I want to drop some weight in the next year so I dont want to order to early. But I guess thats what alterations are far!

I'm getting married 7 days after you and I ordered my dress already (from Kleinfelds) Keep in mind, I;m a crazy bride who had all of my major vendors booked within a month of getting engaged lol BUT, I just couldn't wait any longer to start looking for dresses. I looked in October.....

I def plan on losing weight before my wedding but the dress wont be in until 3-4 months before my wedding so I have plenty of time to lose...

I ordered mine about 9 months before, the store said try not to do less than 8, but even if you did it should be ok. I ordered mine in sept and they said it should be in in march!
