For girls who have their wedding dresses... How many dresses did you try on, and how many places did you go? I went to Rk last week and really liked a dress, its a tafetta though which I never pictured myself in but its so pretty, looks nice and goes with my overall wedding picture( if that makes sense). I went yesterday to Macys Bridal Salon of Manhasset on lunch and tried on 6 satin dresses( cause I always pictured myself in Satin) I liked 3 of them but kept thinking of the taffetta.... I dont want to fly around...should I look 1 or 2 more places? where? I dont want to fly around, but I want to rule out everything else in my head to be sure ya know. Does anyone really really just know OMG this is the dress for sure??? Or did you somehow narrow it down to be sure?? TIA

1st gown I tried on was the one.
I tried on like 30 others but went back to the first one I choose. I went to 2 places

I went to about 5 stores and tried on maybe 15 dresses. the last dress I tried on was the one I bought. It was the one and it was the same designer as the 1st dress I tried on but more affordable. I knew it was the one.

I went to 3 different places (Davids, Macys at Smithhaven, and Paradise Bridal) but I ended up purchasing the dress I liked at Paradise Bridal which was the first place I went to.

I was the same way & pictured myself also in a satin dress. I went to 1 store & I picked out 8 dresses to try on I threw like 2 fun looking dresses in there just to try on & the 2nd dress I tried on (which was 1 of the fun ones) was the dress. I did try on the rest of them & kept going back to the 2nd dress. At first with my dress I didn't realize that it was THE dress & just kept trying other dresses to make sure it was & the girl that helped me said lets talk a walk around the store & look at the racks which sounded great but asked if i could put the 2nd dress i tried on back on!! I never walked around the store at that point I knew it was my dress!!

I tried on probably over 100 gowns at 8 different stores. Everyone is different, but for me, wedding dress shopping was a once in a lifetime experience and I was gonna live it up while I could. I loved every minute of it. I found my dress on my second to last dress shopping excursion. I went one more time just to be sure. Check out Village Bridal or Paradise Bridal in Patchogue!

My dress was the very first one I tried one! BUT, I subsequently tried on about 45 more dresses to be sure...haha...although I DEF knew I would return to the first one. It wasn't a full coincidence...I booked my first appt on the day that the salon was having a trunk show by the designer I had been loving in magazines (Rivini).
I agree with above posters - wedding dress shopping is a once in a lifetime event so live it up and enjoy! Just because you don't commit on the spot doesn't mean its not THE ONE! Enjoy...have fun....and then do it!

I went to one store (Kleinfelds) and tried on about 5 or 6 dresses...MY dress ended up being the last one i tried on, cos after that i didnt need to see anything else.

I tried on quite a few because people kept telling me to try on all white/ ivory dresses and I wanted at dress that had color but not just adding a sash. out of the ones i knew I actually wanted to try one the first one I tried on was the one and i tried on a few after that but when back to the first one with color

i went to 3 salons and tried on about 10 - 13 dresses i think. i was like you though - had always envisioned myself in silk satin, and ended up with silk taffeta.

I tried on like 25 dresses. I walked into Bridal Reflections, saw the dress on the mannequin, put it on and fell in love (of course I had to make it my own by adding some items) but I wouldn't change it for the world!

I went to 3 places, found the dresses I liked the best at the last place and went back to that place later. I needed some time away to get a fresh perspective. I probably tried on somewhere around 20-35 dresses but I kept comparing everything to one dress. I left tht one for last and when I tried it on again, I knew it had to be it.
