How long should I wait till i go shopping. We are looking to set a june or july 2012 date. just looking at venues this month.
also i know its exciting but who was nervous about going because they werent 'ideal body image' for dress?

I got engaged in August 2010 and went dress shopping immediately. We got married July 29, 2011...
I would say start looking now. Don't worry about the 'ideal body image'...I am far from being the bridal dress size 10. I would start looking now because you never know how long it's going to take you to find soemthing you like and it could take a while to get here...better to be safe than sorry!

A lot of places will tell you that it takes 6-7 months for the dress to come in (which is B.S. and just their way to try and get you to pay extra for rush fees) so I'd recommend going before you reach the 7 month away mark.

I bought my dress last November for my July 2012 wedding. I went dress shopping a month after finding the RH. I don't think it is ever too early to go dress shopping.

I started looking right in November after my engagement. But I have not bought yet. I am going this weekend to offically start. If I find something I think I am ready to buy! Cross your fingers...

i went on the 7th month mark, but I also walked away with my dress in my hands that day as well.
if your needing to order your dress, i'd start looking around a year-10 months before.
and here's a tip- do not tell them your exact wedding date. tell them it's 2 weeks earlier, that way you get it in faster, and have more time for alterations and fittings.

6-9 months before the wedding is a good time to order. I was nervous about the shape I was in too, but wedding dresses are very forgiving! Im sure you will find something you love, don't worry about loosing weight before you try things on.

i am getting married a week after you and just bought my dress about 2 weeks ago.
it was definitely not the best ego builder but i've put down my deposit and going back to get measured in october before they order the dress so that it gives me some more time to lose weight.
