Wedding Dress Shopping

Ok Ladies tomorrow I am going dress shopping for my third time. I have no found anything I like. I look online and everything looks so nice and wonderful but locating the dress in a store is so hard. Probably the most frustrating thing for me. So, tomorrow IM going to RK bridal because they have a big variety.

Does anyone have any recommendations or advice. Im on my 7 month mark!

Re: Wedding Dress Shopping

I went to three other bridal salons before finding 'the one' at RK Bridal. I tried not to browse the internet too much because I realized quickly what looked good on the models didn't look good on me, and the dresses I liked may not flatter my body. I was totally wanting a big fluffy princess type of dress and I never wanted strapless...well I ended up going with a tight form fitting strapless dress with lace and beads!. I loved RK Bridals huge selection, they're a very no frills type of place, you're in and out, which I liked. My bridal consultant actually found my dress for me since the ones I kept choosing didn't flatter my body at all. Good luck!!! I found my dress Feb 29, 2012 and it came in two weeks ago! it only took a little over 3 months so don't stress too much! they're super quick and my wedding is in November so I'm so glad it came so soon!.

Try Bridal World, Bridal Reflections, and Bridal Elegance. HTH!!

Make sure you ask how long a dress takes bc it varies!!

Jeannine at David's Bridal in Massapequa Park was wonderful. I went there just to get an idea of what silhouettes are flattering on me and wound up purchasing my dress from there!

Try Helen's Bridal in commack and talk to Ashley. I have loved working with them and found my dress within an hour of being there! Great selection of Maggie dress too!

I said yes to the dress at Kleinfelds in NYC! and the best part was that my dress was TOTALLY affordable! Way cheaper then the dresses in their sample sale! They also had maggie dresses

A friend of mine also bought her dress at Pronovias in NYC and said the selection was unbelievable!

Good Luck!

I had been in the same place as you. I went to several bridal stores and was getting frustrated as I just couldn't find the dress! I finally hit RK Bridal at my friends reccommendation and got lucky! They had the largest selction out of the other stores I had visited and its kind of nice to look through the racks yourself. You pick 5 dresses yourself to start, and after the consultant sees your style she'll pick some more for you to try on. I ended up with an Enzoani dress that my friend selected. I also researched the price and they seemed to have the best for the dress.
it arrived on time and everything went smoothly.
Definitely go during the week or when they first open on the weekend as they do get super busy.

Good Luck!

do you have a designer that you like? if so as long as the store carries it they can usually hunt down the dress that you really wanna try on if you give them a heads up.

i live in brooklyn so i stayed more local, if you need places in brooklyn or the city let me know.

Hey--I'm wondering how your RK bridal experience went? I just saw your post but was at rk bridal on the 12th :). I had a business meeting in the city and decided afterward to take a trip there before coming home. I wished I had known that searching for a dress at RK Bridal by yourself with a purse and a laptop bag was not a great idea, lol. Talk about a challenge! But, I actually found two dresses I absolutely loved--both of which were not on my lengthy 'to find' list!

This dress shopping is super frustrating for me--I feel like I like so many things but am terrified to say 'yes' for fear of choosing the wrong one. UGH
