I'm not getting married until October 2014 and everyone keeps asking me when I'm going to look for a dress. I really don't know when to start looking but I would assume I have at least until November/December right?

I'm getting married at the end of September of 2014(like 2 weeks before you), and I'm not going to seriously go looking for a dress until this September. It's mainly because I have this specific cut in mind (trumpet), and I know I'm going to have to loose more weight for it. I've started looking at pictures of dresses though, maybe start there so you have an idea of what you definitely don't want.

You should go at least 6 months ahead of time to make sure there is enough time to get the dress in. I bought a dress right after my engagement and now I am rethinking the purchase!

I'm not getting married until June 2014 either and I am going this weekend to order my dress. I started looking in February because I could only go on Sundays with my mom and I didnt want to go to more than one place per day. It's never too early to look even if you go and try on a few dresses to see which cuts look the best on you.

Getting married Feb. 2014, and bought my dress this past November. I think if you see something you really love, go for it. It's a nice check to have off your list :)Don't feel pressured though, you have time. Look through magazines and online at different designers until you find something you really love.

I'm getting married the same weekend as you and I'm starting to look in July, just so that if I don't find something right away I don't have to go to a different store every single weekend, so that I can space it out and enjoy it.

My date is early May and I think I am going to go in June or July. I want to lose the maximum amount of weight before I go!

I would ORDER your dress at least 10 months ahead...just to be safe! I've heard some horror stories.I'm getting married at the end of August and I recently went just for fun, a little dress shopping never hurt anyone ;)

I would allow AT LEAST 10 months for the dress to come in and stuff. I figure that also includes for any mishaps.

I am not starting to look at dresses until June and I am getting married next July! I don't want to do it too early but I will be out of school in June so I will be way more relaxed for the process to start! I think 10-12 months is about right!Welcome New Vendors
