can you extend a train on a dress that is already made??

I don't think they can do that without there being an obvious seam showing where the material was added.

to be honest with you I am not sure but before I purchased my dress I asked that question b/c I wanted a cathedral train. The salon told me that they could do it before it was fully done being made but it would be too heavy for the bustle.
